  1. Count my vote as a resounding YES for Ron Stallworth to receive the *Sheriff Bart Award* !

As I read this story...I could not help but be reminded of an A&E investigative report I viewed very recently about a *skinhead*/kkk faction here in the south....not a one of the involved parties were the sharpest tool in the shed, none had jobs, and EVERY one of them were so eager(desperate) to recruit new members, that the main ( actually, only) source of recruits were young teens on the run from parents and any form of parental dicipline. (ie: going to school on a consistent basis, no underage drinking, becoming a decent contributor to society.)

The depth of ignorance displayed individually, made for a farcical bunch when they all were gathered in one place.Their indoctrination time consisted of sitting around ( a lot),playing video games, consuming a lot of beer, self tattooing, lamenting about how there were *no decent jobs to be found except ones that required an education* - imagine that! ha!

Unfortunately - this mindset can, and indeed does, lead to a deadly mix- during the course of the program , it was revealed that two of the members, both teens, are now awaiting court hearings for a hate crime murder that was hatched from a plot borne of ignorance and boredom.

I would love to see someone as committed as Ron Stallworth infiltrate this type of faction.

  2. In the black community I believe it’s called ”Passing for White ....Trash”.

It’s good that we see his photo; not the sort one could mistake for Italian-American, is he?  I refuse to argue with racists anymore. The only proper behavior toward them is laughter, or kicking them in the nuts. Perhaps an exception for confused young teens Doll Refers to.

  3. Sherriff Bart rides again! This is a great example of most of the older black people I’ve known over the years: clever, classy, and with a wry sense of humor.

    cool grin

  4. Courage is not in short supply in some places. Check out the story of Richard Ganey at Michael Yon’s blog:

    Quite the hero!  cool smirk

  5. Right On Ron!

I love a sense of humor and I love a CAN DO attitude.

    He gets my vote.

Side note:  The academics were surprised that he wasn’t a white Mormom.  hmmmmm - Did it occur to any of them that he just might be a bright articulate Black Man living in Utah?  Bigotry and racial assumptions aren’t limited to the Klan.  It’s one of the reasons that I don’t identify with liberals any more.

  6. WTG Sheriff Ron! I’m lovin’ it. party

Let’s face it, Dr. Jeff, no matter how we try, we all have assumptions that we can fall victim to. I’m thinking of the time I was standing a barracks watch in the Navy when a German sailor approached and my absolute surprise when he started speaking English with a Canadian accent. Totally unexpected. He sounded like he came from Hamilton, a town south of Toronto, not a trace of the German accent I assumed i was going to hear. (His father was a diplomat and he had spent six years in the Toronto area.)

It was a mind bender at first, I assure you. party

I learned something though. It just took a little bit of digesting. LOL

Then again, I’ve suprised folks who had made assumptions about me.

  7. Great story, Rickvid. Thanks for that link. I’ve been reading Yon’s stuff from time to time but I missed that one. Time to go lookin’ again. He’s apparently not sending out update notices any more.

  8. Sheriff Bart: “And now, for my next impression...Jesse Owens!”

  9. StinKerr - The difference is that you learned from the experience and you put the knowledge to work.  Liberals don’t.

  10. Wasn’t there a comedy sketch of a blind black guy who wrote KKK-type books and didn’t know he was black? LOL I saw it on MTV last week, but it must have been a repeat from a US show.
