We have PLENTY of people receiving one form of social assistance or another, and as a result, the citizenry has much higher taxes wrested from our personal wealth to pay for them too, in all sorts of areas: Income tax, sales tax, property tax, health “fee” (it’s a god damned tax), land transfer, estate, hidden energy taxes with both provincial AND federal sales taxes compounded on top of that, excise taxes, import taxes and duties, environmental taxes, disposal taxes both on the front AND back ends, etc...etc… Every time I turn around, the various layers of governments I have to put up with are shoving their hands deeper into my pockets.
The layabouts tend to rent, rather than own/mortgage property due to the stronger rules we have on borrowing, though. At least here, the lenders weren’t forced into making bad loans, and although they’re greedy, they’re not greedy to the point of losing focus of long term stability and health of their business.
Like I said to you in the email I sent Drew, their victim class all inclusive, aka the health care system they have.I guess they should be happy that Trudaeu never managed to fuck the banking system up like he did with the social service network there.
We on the other hand managed to fuck everything up since Wilson gave the Fed our money to play with in 1913 and Rosy gave in to the social engineers in 33.
Happy Days.
Canadian banks are definitely more conservative in their lending criteria. I don’t know about the social assistance side of things, but I take Argentium’s word for it. There do seem to be lots of deadbeat dumpster divers here in the Pacific North West looking for the recycling fee on cans. I don’t suppose they are so common elsewhere as the weather would thin them out a bit!
