  3. Oh PuhLEAZE.

Bush is often slandered for being “unilateral” and for “snubbing” the rest of the world, but the truth is that it is the rest of the world that snubbed him. The fact is that he painstakingly tried to make nice with the UN, Europe, and even Russia should show that much.

However, when all options for dialogue with the “Neutrals” failed, Bush chose to go rather alone instead of back down.

So Obama’s critique is being direct at the wrong people.

Jesus, if you hear some of the tripe Obama says in the video and his followers say elsewhere, you would think Bush was IKE for Chrissakes.

And make no mistake about this: for whatever Bushes’ flaws were, he was no Ike, and we can thank god for that.

And before anybody tries to defend Ike here, let me just say this: it takes someone who is F*ed up in a very special way to stab our staunch Allies in the back on no less than THREE occasions while giving our opponents the ammunition to shoot us: Indochina 1954, Suez 1956, and Algeria 1952-1960. The first of which helped lead to the rise of a particularly unsavoury regime in Southeast Asia and an even costlier war than the one in the 50’s, and the later two helped wash away seventy years of Western dominance in the Middle East to pave the way for the Islamist/Tinpot Scum matchup we have to deal with today.

The sad fact of the matter is that one must realize that war is ultimately a form of diplomacy, and those who fail to allow its use are invariably swept away.

Those in the WH should keep this in mind.
