It said: ‘Making refused asylum seekers homeless and penniless is hugely counterproductive.
‘It is much more difficult to work with them to encourage voluntary return or to ensure timely removal.’
The UK lags far behind countries such as Sweden or Canada in persuading failed asylum seekers to leave voluntarily, the report found. A forced removal costs around £11,000, 10-times as much as a voluntary return.
(according to some radio news reports, Sweden has an 80 percent rate of ppl who do return to their own country where the opposite is true of the UK. I haven’t a clue how true that is however.)
Mr Duncan Smith said: ‘The policy of making asylum seekers destitute is mean and nasty and has not worked.’
How stupid are they? Really. Is there a word for that stupid? If it isn’t worth their while to come there, if it isn’t worth their while to stay there, they won’t come to stay and draw a paycheck for being there. Here in America, same damn thing. Don’t make it so damn inviting for illegals, and they don’t come in the droves!
UK immigration some years back tried to organise a flight to the “Democratic” ha, ha, ha, Republic of the Congo. They managed to cobble together about 15 people out of the hundreds if not thousands from this country alone. Eventually when the plane took off it was whittled down to about 12 people plus two guards per person. It cost the taxpayer I believe about £60,000.
The problem in Britain is we made stupid laws like the Human Rights Act and allowed people multiple appeals against decisions paid for by the tax payer. The problem could easily be solved. Pass a law stating that there is no appeal in country, and any appeals will have to be taken in the home country at the appellants cost. Then round up failed asylum seekers with military guards. Put them on an RAF Hercules and ship them back. Trouble is there are too many bleeding hearts. Recently the government was berated for deporting a Ghanaian woman who’s visa had expired. She was receiving (free) treatment for cancer on the NHS which is a violation of her visa. When she got back to Ghana she snuffed it. So now it’s the British government’s fault!! WTF? Are we supposed to fund the medicals services of the turd world out of British taxpayers largesse?
Politicians have been, up until recently, completely out of touch with the fury of the average man on the street. They see Britain going to hell in a handcart and nothing being done. Now they are starting to get twitchy as an election is looming on the horizon and many of the zanuLabour scum realise they will be out of a job.
