1. Actually, that’s exactly what happens to a thief in MOOS-lim countries. They cut off the right hand. It’s not just the loss of a hand that is the penalty. It’s the fact that the thief knows that everything he touches from that day on will be unclean. So does everyone he comes in contact with so he is a virtual outcast.
