  1. Sure dont capture pirates, bring them to room temp as quick as you can, no trial, with its huge costs and no prison costs too, as cadavers are not living humans then no human rights issues either, that is how I would read it!!!

  2. While the French Commandos really ARE some bad-ass warriors, and should well HAVE been the ones to do this raid indeed, it really hurts to see the Royal Navy hamstrung in such a fashion. Have you not heard of “pressing the reset button” over there? It’s bloody well getting to be time for it! Words fail me… puke

  3. Speaking of Le’ Commando Francais, where do you think the phrase “Vive le mort, vive le guerre, vive le sacre mercenaire” was born, eh?

  4. Peiper - I’ve looked as best as I can, and found no other news source running this story. I did find a whole bunch of blogs talking about it, and headlines from four days ago to six days ago in the UK papers that the crew was rescued. So I’m awfully slow to the story.

On the Navy issue, the best quip I’ve found was at PopeHat:  “Gordon Brown has spat and hawked, and disgraced the square where Nelson walked.” Which is so good it’s probably borrowed from elsewhere.

    This is a sad thing.

  5. hang them
Don’t waste rope or time.  Shoot them on sight, on site.

  6. Dick I agree these maggots should be swinging from the nearest yard arm. Unfortunately as I have been banging on to all and sundry ad nauseum this crap started with Tony Bliar. His wife is a moonbat of the first order and has accrued a fortune from the public purse defending scum like these Somalis from being deported. Bliar introduced the Human Rights Act to bring us in line with European law. This blocks us removing anyone to countries where they could face torture or the death penalty. So in effect a murderer once he has made his way to Britain can claim asylum and we can’t do bugger all about it thanks to the Traitor Bliar and his moonbat cohorts. I could go on and on but you chaps have limited patience. All I will say is the damage done by ZaNuLabour is in my view irreparable.

  7. "The Royal Navy, once the scourge of brigands on the high seas, has been told by the Foreign Office not to detain pirates because doing so may breach their human rights.

Warships patrolling pirate-infested waters, such as those off Somalia, have been warned that there is also a risk that captured pirates could claim asylum in Britain.

The Foreign Office has advised that pirates sent back to Somalia could have their human rights breached because, under Islamic law, they face beheading for murder or having a hand chopped off for theft.”

That says it all. Shipmates, your only practical option is to shoot them down before they even have a chance to speak. DO NOT capture them, or indeed allow them aboard under any conditions, as they will claim asylum and have YOU on charges for human right abuses.

  8. Don’t hang pirates; just serve ‘em a nice cocktail: two shots and a splash will do.  2gunsfiring

GOF, that is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant comments I’ve seen in a while!

LyndonB, has 1066 been totally removed from the educational system there? RESET!
