And just for fun ... while Noah may have been the first environmental conservator, saving the animals two by two, he was by no means a tree hugger. The bible tells us the ark was made of gopher wood, and the original ship would have used a forest of it. Gopher wood is never mentioned again in the bible, or anywhere else for that matter. I guess he used all of it. Every last tree.
Sure, sure, errors in translation. Maybe, maybe not. Maybe he was just a redneck, and kept sending his sons to the lumberyard. “Shem, take the cart, and gopher wood.”

The reason gopher wood is never mentioned again is because gopher trees didn’t survive the Flood.
But, as you say, could be a mis-translation. Gopher wood just mean ‘go for’ whatever wood you can get, boys. We need to build this Ark STAT!

Would really like to visit that. Frustrating to know that it’s so darn close to where we are, but just can’t go. Maybe next year sometime. Who knows.
That’s an impressive boat, any way you look at it. These days, with Iran and North Korea on the nuclear warpath, it would need to be an underground, reinforced concrete ark.
