  1. PUT A BIG FUCKING 12 FOOT CONCRETE WALL ALL ALONG THE BORDER - THE WHOLE GODDAMN BORDER- WOULD BE MONEY MUCH MORE WELL SPENT THAN HIRING MORE BORDER PATROL AND ALL OF THAT OTHER JUNK.  IT WORKS IN THE HOLY LAND!

NATIONAL GUARD UNITS CAN TAKE TURNS PATROLLING THE WALL ON THEIR ONCE A MONTH TOURS OF DUTY, ALONG WITH THE NORMAL BORDER PATROL.  AND ALSO, MEXICANS CAN BUILD THE WALL FOR US, IN THE INTEREST OF JOB CREATION FOR OUR BROTHERS TO THE SOUTH.

  2. Wouldn’t the 10th amendment come into play and prevent such?

  3. I DON’T THINK SO, BUT PLEASE EDUCATE ME.  I THINK IT’S CLEARLY AN ISSUE OF NATIONAL SECURITY, SO WHY COULDN’T THE FEDERAL GOVT OVERSEE SUCH A CONSTRUCTION AND PATROL EFFORT.  ANYWAY, EVEN IF THIS BARRIER WERE TO BE A PURELY STATE-ADMINISTRATED AFFAIR, COORDINATION OF EFFORTS BETWEEN THE BORDER STATES (WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT, CA, NM, AZ AND TX? FOUR STATES?) IS PLAUSIBLE.

  4. BOB WOW YOU ARE RIGHT.  THAT IS FUCKING REALLY SCARY. IT’S INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THE EVIL ONE WORKS.  EVEN THOSE WHO BELIEVE THEY ARE RIGHTEOUS CAN BE BAMBOOZLED INTO DOING HIS WILL.

  5. ZTUCKA,

Find a good map of the US.  Get a flexible ruler.  Locate the scale on your map (1” = xxx miles)

    Do the math.

    HUNDREDS of miles of wall?

I prefer the vigilante approach where groups of pissed off Americans patrol the most frequented paths of entry and have orders to shoot on sight.

A little bit of that (with some federal encouragement dealing with “so many dollars for set of ears” type of bounty) and this shit would stop in a hurry.

  6. O.K., I’ll stop using all caps.

Yes, hundreds of miles of wall.  Pre-fab concrete sections.  In Israel, which granted, is a MUCH smaller country, they have some concertina-topped chain link fence in many areas, we could do that too.  I DO have a map, by the way.

I like the vigalante idea on paper, but in practice it might get a little to ugly.  Are you suggesting that women and children get shot too?  Just keep ‘em out, problem solved, as Ross Perot was fond of saying.

The great wall of China was a way bigger project and in fact does go for hundreds of miles, and was built quite a long time ago, before Mexicans were invented.

  7. <<<Are you suggesting that women and children get shot too?>>>

I do not suggest they be singled out but I also believe in collateral damage and that “shit happens.”

Who was it that said, “In order to make lemon-ade you must squeeze some lemons” or something to that effect.

  8. I prefer the vigilante approach where groups of pissed off Americans patrol the most frequented paths of entry and have orders to shoot on sight.

I agree. The threat of shooters on the border should be enough after a while. When we catch them just turn them back. “Just turn around and walk back home.”

    Amendment X [1791]

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

  9. Damn...the idea of a national ID card makes my skin crawl...Walling up the southern borders would be a good idea, as would a private militia to patrol the borders and turn away illegals.

  10. It’s frightening to think that someone actually proposed that bill!  Good God, it’s the worst idea i’ve heard in a long time....and I go to a public high school! haha.
As for that wall....it’s got to be plausible.  I mean the Great Wall in China is massive!  If they can do it, why can’t we?

  11. Time to write/call/email your congressman, your senator and your local state reps and tell them what you think.

    Congress: http://www.house.gov/writerep/
    Senate: http://www.senate.gov/

find your state rep by going to your state homepage or using google!

remember, for the people, by the people, of the people.

  12. If I remember right the idea of a national ID card was first being seriously talked about behind closed doors during Carter’s Administration.
I’m personally very pessimistic. I’m not positive about talk of a national ID during Carters’s time but I know that it has and is being vigorously talked about in the academic world. The same academic world that has given us our current crop of bureaucrats. I think I’ll see a national ID in my lifetime.
