Anybody miss me?

Do you notice that you actually can’t tell the sex of either?

  1. I like Ann Coulter’s quote from the LT Gov on Tues WI election - it was the night the “campaign to save America began” Sounds great to me.

BTW, on Townhall - there is a petition started by the Republican Congressional Committee - 90 seconds to repeal Obamacare - yes, it’s a petition and yes, it will probably solicit donation requests - but damn, a guy with an R behind his name, who in 24 hours of the WIN IN WI, has the guts to do this - I’m in.

Let’s see how many can sign this and make a point to the Dems and Obama!

Pass it on - and she told 5 people and he/she told 5 people and . . .

Talking about job searches - hubby has had two offers lately - Madison WI and yep you guessed it Chicago. . . The Chicago is especially persistent - both calls and emails. The real joke is that both are for programers (and how many NOs gets the point across?!?) and the hubby is a Network Security guy. Not to mention Chicago would have to be the LAST place on earth hiring before we’d even consider - thinking about it. Why, why we’d have to put our guns in storage somewhere sane.

Daughter got a contract job - temp 2 week thing - but she kept getting picked up. But alas, this is the Obama wreck-covery job market - so this is the last one until Sept. (even though they are suppose to go all year long. Yes, people this is what our Dept of Ed system does to milk the taxpayers for all they got - contracts, two week employment - no benefits, no opportunity for advancement, no future - to score the stupid standardized tests that these morons forced unto the system (while in my day those standardized tests were discriminatory) - the tests don’t go away, there are usually 2 (if not more) per state per student every year. And yet the job to score them is a joke - and of no real benefit for those (required a 4 year degree) who get the job (the application was so well attended, they did the interviews two applicants at a time).

Your gov (and public union thugs) at work. Taking your money and laughing on the way to the bank - while you wonder wtf happened to America.

  2. Christopher, I hear ya. Almost nothin’ worse then having unexpected and often unwanted guests show up on doorstep, all smiles because we’re thrilled to seem. In their imaginings.
They aren’t bad folks and not necessarily those we’re not glad to see. But when ready.
We have one dear friend here who on the odd occasion, will just “pop over.”
It was quite bad when the MIL was still alive, because being a long time village resident with many friends nearby, some would want to “stop by to say hello to Peggy.” Problem was, both wife and I had our hands full and especially the wife. If all they did was stay for a quick hello and then get the hell out, as bad as that was, it almost never worked out that way. Tea or coffee HAD to be offered as is the custom. Over time I was able to discourage much but not all.  They are it seems, quite used to just ‘dropping by’ without notice over here. I used to ask ppl to PLEASE phone us ahead of time. After awhile most got the message but there’s always the odd one who thinks it doesn’t apply to them. Well it applies to ALL damn it. Don’t understand why people don’t understand that showing up unannounced is rude!

  3. I would be thrilled, with notice, and in small doses.

But the whole clan showed up to visit Mom. But Mom’s in a nursing home and they needed places to stay. And they stayed for a week. I’m unemployed, I could not feed/entertain them. So now it’s all my fault. Again. Seems the oldest brother always gets the blame. I can, and have, put up with one or two, but not sis/husband, unmarried nephew, two married nieces and their husbands, the oldest niece with two grandnephews. If that wasn’t enough, they included my half-sister, her husband, and their children. Sorry, even if employed, I’d need some warning, if only to get my wife’s ‘okay’. Even under the best circumstances, I’m sure her answer would be ‘nyet.’

On the plus side, the job search is going well. I’ve several nibbles, and a couple of bites. One bite I’m seriously working on: have to earn my license from the state. It’s a field I’ve never worked in before, unless you have a broad definition of ‘sales’. The other one, that I really want, would require me to move to Columbus, Indiana. What ever you do to me, Br’er Fox, don’t force me to move to Columbus, Indiana! That’s a beautiful little city and my late uncle was a judge there. I’d really hate to be forced to move thereā€¦

Oh, almost forgot: three bites. FedEx is interested and asked me to fill out some additional forms online. It’s only part-time, but I expect I could work up to full-time in no time. (did you like that alliteration?)
