Good show on Discovery-Times Channel, “Why Intelligence Fails”. In the case of Singapore pre-WW2, one problem was old-time Admirals who didn’t grasp the implications of naval aircraft. Their battleships had no air cover & were sunk by Japanese torpedo bombers who were vastly more powerful and had skilled pilots, much more than the Brits expected.
Another problem was Churchill, and others, didn’t think the little yellow Nips had the balls or skill to pull it off. The statement that seems to apply to Europe and the Moslems—Having a mind-set that is not altered by incremental facts dribbling in. It takes a disaster to wake up the authorities.

Oink, you mean like 9/11 which awakened the authorities but left the disenfranchised Democrats slumbering? Admittedly, they woke up briefly but then went back to sleep, thrashing and turning in their little narrow cots, having nightmares about November, 2000 over and over again.
One thing I can never grasp is why they feel it is so much more important to regain power in Washington than it is to stand united against these determined madmen. Must we lose everything before they grasp the magnitude of the enemy’s resolve?
I’m sorry but I’m just having a bad case of late-night malaise, brought on by the ceaseless yammering from the Left. Like most sensible Americans I am torn between throwing up my hands and saying let the bastards drag it down on their heads on one hand and on the other hand fighting a war on two fronts, internal madmen and external madmen. It’s a quagmire, alright, and we’re all sinking.

I think, for a while after 9/11, even the Left was scared shitless. Except, of course, the Hard Core Crazies. It has been the four years of safety that has given the Left the opportunity to revert. These POSs aren’t worth a pimple on the ass of the men that bought those four years.
Unless we defeat the Islamo-Fascists, militarily and politically, they WILL get lucky and sneak in a Nuke or Poison Gas. I fear the backlash when a million of us die. Anger like that will not make distinctions.
Our country has had evil political movements. Pro-slavery—Eugenics—supporters of Stalin and the Soviet Union. I wish these people had been called to a stricted accounting for their actions; especially the ideological supporters of mass starvation and gulags. But, our country produced Abe Lincoln, Jane Addams, Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan. History will remember them and piss on the graves of the others who produce only noise.
Remember, remember, there are millions of people like me and my Sons and my Daughter who would see ourselves and our entire families dead before we’d live under Sharia.

Power is everything to some. I’m beginning to believe that they’d rather see the country go down in defeat if it meant that they regained power. The beauty part, from their perspective, is that they can then blame someone else.
Chris Wallace interviewed Jay Rockefeller over the weekend. He asked him if he wasn’t responsible for his vote in favor of authorizing the President to go to war with Iraq. Rockefeller said “No”. He then did some backpedalling but basically he didn’t want to be held responsible for what he voted for. I didn’t look up at the screen at the time, but I think he was talking out of both sides of his mouth as well as his ass.
One thing the Dems have over the Reps. They will circle the wagons and stick together no matter what the subject is. They will protect each other no matter how heinous a crime might be, provided the perpetrator is a party loyalist.

SK: I read this recently, forgot who said it: The Left thinks it would be worth it to see the USA defeated, women subjugated, gays executed, freedom destroyed, if only they could get George Bush.
They are pissants. The Islamofascists cannot win. Only countries like France that invite their enemies inside can loose. The only thing these turds can do is get in a lucky shot. And that’s only because a man willing to die is hard, hard to stop. (ask Reagan’s security) Even with the luck of having oil, these countries are the asshole of the world.
I suspect we’ll look back and wonder why we even worried about Islam as an enemy. Just like we are seeing now how vulnerable the USSR really was. Good point Oink. The loss of Repulse and the Prince of Wales was scandalous given that a year or so earlier the British had crippled the Italian fleet at Taranto using clapped out Swordfish biplanes. The only people that seemed to grasp the potential were the Japanese who went on to cripple the US fleet at Pearl Harbour as well as sink the above mentioned British battleships.
The analogy is rather grim. If the general populace does not wake up soon and realise the kind of threat we face then I feel Europe will descend into anarchy. I am sure many Americans will not shed tears over the prospect of that. Too much American blood has already been shed over the ingrates. However a moooslim dominated Europe would be a dangerous prospect especially if they get hold of the nukes.
The Iraq war is screwed up just like all war (including the Sainted WW2) is a fuster-cluck. The reason the terrorists continue in Iraq is the attention they get from the MSM and reflexive “anti-war” KoolAid Drinkers. (ahem!)

Come on, Man. You do not get to pick where you’re born. I’m an American: I speak English and wear jeans and speak my mind regarding politics and despise mixing government/religion. I also like peanut butter and beer. I suspect that human sacrifice is wrong in every culture and context. Beyond that, the Devil is in the details.
A few things are evil per se. Many other things are morally void, but just don’t work so good.

I believe that the moooosies religion requires that they be submissive. I think that this is part of the cultural problem. When you have something like this there will alays arise someone who feels that everyone should be submissive to him. While outsiders can take care of the megalomaniacs when they get out of hand, they can’t solve the underlying problem. It is up to Islam to solve this problem. They need a reformation and many of them know this. Unfortunately they are a minority. Then again, Martin Luther was a minority too.
Y:ou don’t get to pick where you are born, but usually you can decide whether or not to stay there. That’s what populated the U.S., Canada, Australia, etc., etc..
OCM: All Western Democracies that speak English, save Canada, which has Quebec. How many people migrate even from France <> Germany? I could have asked Sri Lanka <> Japan.

That guy pretty well nails it. It jibes with some other commentary that I’ve read. He left out the part that I’ve seen before where supply trains might not ever get to the units to be resupplied because the supply convoy commander would sell off the supplies enroute.
Let’s hope that they never get their
together. They could actually be formidable. We must never forget this.

OCM regarding entry 25. the guy extradited from Italy to Britain for the July failed bombing attempt was (no one knows for sure) either Somali, Ethiopian or Eritrean. These guys don’t exactly keep comprehensive birth records and he claimed asylum in Britain as a Somali but already had asylum in Italy aunder another name as an Ethiopean (I think I could have it the wrong way round). Either way he is not North African, he is most definitely black. From a historical perspective some of the most fanatic moooslims were found in the Sudan. Followers of the Mahdi who wiped out General Gordon. They got their comeuppance at the hands of Kitchener and a young Churchill togther with the Maxim gun!
