But we already have them. Think of New York City’s MTA, their Metropolitan Transportation Association. They have nearly unchecked power, they levy their own “tax” on bus fair, train fair, bridge and tunnel tolls, etc. And they spend spend spend, always always more. It’s probably one of the more corrupt groups in the country, and they get away with it always.

They are of course unelected and they spend millions upon millions upon millions and very often on the most ludicrous things. And they are well paid. Naturally. City councils might put one together (here) to find out why (pik a card. any card) don’t have to account to anyone.
