    But at least the Ceausescus could claim that the petrol shortage was to blame.

  4. You really have to sympathize with them somewhat. This is a European country. Many European countries offer euroasi...er… euthanasia as a State benefit!

    I’m sure they meant well. After all, they are paid Gov’t NHS professionals whose job it is to know who’s worth saving. I’m shocked that professionals were ‘detained’.

    Me? My old first-aid training said to continue resuscitation efforts until the pros, like these two, showed up.

    My guess is that Mr. Baker had a better chance if I had been first on the scene… but no doubt then I’d be ‘detained’ for practicing medicine without a license…
