Looks like a charming little place. And “dog friendly”, which is so quintessentially English! Love it. Love also that, along with a proper Sunday roast beef and yorkies, they also serve “cheesy chips with extra bacon”. First rate.

What is Cask Marque?
Backed by 34 of the country’s leading brewers and pub companies, Cask Marque accreditation is only awarded to licensees whose ale passes a series of rigourous independent beer quality audits.
Since its foundation in 1997, Cask Marque has inspected around 100,000 pints of beer and accredited nearly 4,000 of the country’s 36,500 pubs estimated to serve one or more cask conditioned ales.
Pity that Devizes isn’t a bit closer so they could get their Wadworth delivered by Shire horse, in it’s proper handmade wooden casks. Steel kegs delivered by truck may be efficient, but it can’t compete in terms of charm. Or taste perhaps.
Peiper,
It looks like a great place to go! I’ve always wanted to visit the UK; and if I can, my wife and I will pay a visit.
Mike
I’ve bee to many places, thanks to the military, but never have had the chance to visit the UK. On my to do list
Looks charming - why is it all the ‘local’ places in the US look like filthy dives - even the ones with great food?
Because they look like poo on the outside, and oh so good on the inside.. like a small ugly hole in the wall dive bar..
