  1. Too late, they are almost ubiquitous these days and with Mayors like Blooming Idiot and Emanuel they will be used “When Needed” and whenever they feel like it .
    Justified by the Media of course.

Chief Daryl Gates was a pioneer in armored vehicles for the police.  Armored vehicles for the cops are pretty much useless unless you’re preparing to put down an armed insurrection.  I don’t know of a single case where an armored vehicle was actually useful to the cops in making an arrest.  That includes the SWAT teams.

    Yeah, my sense of paranoia is reaching new heights.

  3. Rather the government spend money on something tangible and useful than throw it at the chavs, and law enforcement is a good and appropriate function of government.  But, how hard do you need to enforce these laws, and just what are they, anyway?  I’m savin’ my wine bottles.
