And it’s their own fault. For 100+ years they lay fairly low across the world, with only tiny pogroms in the Holy Land once in a while.
Little did we know that they weren’t really sleeping or taking things lightly, but building up their strength and numbers to resume their fight.
Remember, they took over most of the Western world in the Dark Ages, then eventually won the Crusades ... and didn’t get the boot from Spain until 1492 ... and were still attacking US and European shipping in the 1780s ... and that whole Khartoum thing with the Mahdi in 1885 ... then finally the downfall of the Ottomans in 1918, but then the pogroms in the 20s in Jerusalem etc. , and the cooperation with the Nazis in WWII ...
Come to think of it, jihad has never really stopped. It just diminished in scale for a few centuries, even for the West to overlook it.
But the same war that Charles Martel and Vlad the Impaler fought is the one we are fighting right now, whether or not we have the honesty to admit it.
