  1. Beautiful! Would that I could.

  2. No, the rondels (bullseye markings) are not messed up.  That is the insignia of the Dutch Air Force.  Notice the small orange disc in the center.

Anyhoos, it may not have the sleek, sexy lines of a single seat Spit, but I’d take her.  Love to have a Messerschmidt 109 G6.  Ultimately though, I dream of owning a McDonnel Douglas F-4E Phantom II.  Sure, it would be expensive, but it is a dream, right?

  3. Dutch Air Force ..
Darn. Thanks.  I never noticed that and thought they had simply done their own design.
Still, the old Brit markings nicer.

Hey, if you’re gonna mention planes of a more modern age, there is one I dearly love the looks of and yet people say it’s ugly.
The plane called The Wartgog.  ? I think that’s right. I think it’s a beaut.
Oh, I forgot to mention the JU-87 earlier. Like the looks of that too.

    Planes are just beautiful huh?

  4. I wouldn’t call the Warthog beautiful, I feel like that’s not giving it the respect it deserves, but I know what you mean.

A Warthog is butt-ugly.... in the same way that the Stuka was butt-ugly..... in the same way that a Staffordshire Bull Terrier is butt-ugly....

...so ugly in it’s own quite distinctive way that it achieves a kind of classic beauty all its own, but approached from the other side.

  5. Before I got married, I had a Grumman AA-5

    Wikipedia

I also had a new car, and money in the bank.

I’ve been married 28 years, have no plane, the same car,
and no money in the bank.

But it’s supposed to be better…
