  1. His name is also on the rail bridge from Devon in to cornwall, made of cast tubes to support it, used some sort of diving bel to build the tower bases. I remember reading he was not taught but just knew what worked, unlike today but the crap they build today is inlikely to be there in over 100 years, and now, after his broad gauge was rejected for stupid reasons engineers struggle with “standard gauge” and the atmospheric failed because rats feasted on the seals!!
    On a similar note isnt there a short atmospheric subway in NY city??
