Pandering To The Mob Of Stoopit

No Skin In The Game

Major US Air Carriers Ban Trophy Hunt Cargo

The recent killing of a popular lion named Cecil by an American dentist in Zimbabwe sparked considerable outrage on social media and elsewhere against safari hunting. The event has also brought to light the role that airlines play in transporting trophy kills as cargo, and may have contributed to changing airline policy.

On Monday, Delta Air Lines became the latest carrier to change its rules about transporting hunting trophies. Its announcement came as a group of airlines including Air France, KLM, Iberia, IAG Cargo, Singapore Airlines and Qantas signaled last week they would ban the transport of trophy-hunting kills, according to Paul Ferris, the campaign director at SumOfUs.org, a consumer-based petition agency in Brooklyn, which has pressed for changing cargo policies.

“Airlines and other large travel corporations would be foolish to ignore the public reaction to the killing of Cecil the lion, and growing concern about the plight of endangered species,” Mr. Ferris said.

Such a ban was initiated by South African Airways in April, and Emirates, Lufthansa and British Airways later joined. These airlines pledged not to carry big game trophies, including elephants, rhinos, lions and tigers as cargo.

One major holdout had been Delta, which has direct service between the United States and countries in Africa. But bowing to pressure from some travelers and activists, and an online petition on Change.org, Delta changed its position too.

“Effective immediately, Delta will officially ban shipment of all lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros and buffalo trophies worldwide as freight,” according to a statement by Morgan Durrant, a Delta spokesman.

The ban is largely symbolic as most big-game hunters are wealthy and either ship on their own aircraft, ships, or through cargo services.
...
While the statement specifically calls out certain large game, it does not address the legal hunting of smaller trophies such as Antelope, Gazelle, etc. United and American have not specifically updated their policies at this time on listed game, just issuing short statements and tweets on the topic.

And here come the unintended consequences, right on schedule.  Or maybe they’re the intended consequences, since all Liberals are Racist {ask the 2 golly wogs who took down the Bernie Sanders speech}, and thus they don’t care if #AfricanLivesMatter as long as they feel good about themselves? ...

Neighboring Namibia also warned that a ban by airlines on trophy transportation will hurt its economy and conservation efforts that rely on revenue from hunters.

This will be the end of conservation in Namibia,” the Namibia Press Agency quoted Pohamba Shifeta, the environment and tourism minister, as saying.

South Africa says that if hunters can’t take their animal trophies home, a hunting industry worth nearly $500 million a year will suffer, affecting job creation and community development. In Namibia, more than 80 registered Namibian wildlife conservancies depend largely on funding from trophy hunting, according to the Namibia Press Agency.

“If conservancy members have no income, they will abandon their role in protecting the country’s natural resources,” Shifeta said.

But then the Left has never been able to accept the horrible truth that hunters are the real conservationists, and they are the ones pouring millions and billions into preserving open spaces and getting species to increase their numbers. If it weren’t for Ducks Unlimited, there wouldn’t be anywhere near as many marshlands for the little quackers to breed in.

Nearly Child Abuse

I saw these in the grocery store the other night. My first thought was what a cruel trick it would be to play on a kid.  Then I figured the little brat probably had it coming, and I started laughing right there. A nearby senior lady was shopping and asked me what was so funny. Look at these I said. Perfect revenge on a bratty grandchild. She laughed too.

“Who wants a yummy Popsicle?”

“I do Grandma, I do I do! Me me me!!!”

“Here you go sugar honey, in a special flavor just for you!”

[Kid attacks ice pop. Lick lick, chomp. Face turns grey, eyes bug out, rushes to sink and yaks it up. Much coughing and staggering around the kitchen holding stomach]

“Ewww gross! What kind of %^!# is this made from?”

“Why it’s kale, Brussels sprouts, and asparagus. I’ve got boxes of them! They said it’s the new flavor kids love!”

“BARF!!!”

image

In all fairness, they probably taste OK. But the joke of switching out a sugary treat for a sneaky serving of icky green vegetables tickles my Evil Grand Vizier funny bone. Mwaahahahahaa!

words fail ….  they sell babies also. they have a price list.

Islamic State Circulates Sex Slave Price List

A senior United Nations official says Islamic State is circulating a slave price list for captured women and children, and that the group’s ongoing appeal and barbarity pose an unprecedented challenge.

The official, Zainab Bangura, said that on a trip to Iraq in April she was given a copy of an Islamic State pamphlet, which included the list, showing that captured children as young as one fetch the highest price. The bidders include both the group’s own fighters and wealthy Middle Easterners.

The list shows the group’s view of the value of those it captures and surfaced some eight months ago, though its authenticity came under question. Bangura, who is the UN special envoy on sexual violence in conflict and was also in Jordan and Turkey, said she has verified that the document came from Islamic State and reflects real transactions.

“The girls get peddled like barrels of petrol,” she said in an interview last week in New York. “One girl can be sold and bought by five or six different men. Sometimes these fighters sell the girls back to their families for thousands of dollars of ransom.”

For Islamic State fighters, the prices in Iraqi dinars for boys and girls aged 1 to 9 are equal to about $165, Bangura said. Prices for adolescent girls are $124 and it’s less for women over 20.

A translated version of the document was shared online by humanitarian and peace prize winner Dr Widad Akrawi, and reads as follows:

We have received news that the demand in Women and Cattle market has sharply decreased and that will affect Islamic State revenues as well as the funding of mujahideen in the battlefield, therefore we have made some changes. Below are the prices for Yazidi and Christian women.

The price for Yazidi or Christian women between the age of 40 - 50 is $43 (£27)

$75 (48) for 30 to 40-year-olds

$86 (£55) for 20 to 30-year-olds

$130 (£83) for ten to 20-year-olds

$172 (£110) for one to nine-year-olds

These two women, with strikingly symmetrical faces, are members of the Ethiopian Hamer (Hamar) tribe. Genetically they are a mix of Caucasian, Negroid, and Mongolian types, seeing as they are closely related to the Bushmen that lived in the area before them. Their necklaces proclaim that they are both First Wives, sharing a husband with 2 other lesser wives. president of european commission says ignore public calls to turn away nigrants

There’s yet another problem with regard to the illegals swarming Calais and trying to get to Britain.

The treason committed by leftist anarchists who could, if the authorities only had the will, be rounded up and made to disappear.
It isn’t numbers or lack of skill or weapons. It’s a lack of any meaningful will to institute a final solution to this problem of invasion by a foreign group, who have no god given right to be here. And ,,, they are enabled by the usual misfits on the left.  Cutting off the head won’t be enough to save things.
Their organization and those who donate money and even those who, while not taking part in direct action, show sympathy for the anarchists, must also be deleted.  Permanently. Failing that, Europe is lost as is Britain.  In fact, the lion may already be dead.  With apologies to Brit readers and friends.

Here’s a brief example and following this is the solution suggested by the president of the European Commission.

British anarchists are inciting Calais unrest, say French: Police union chief claims storming of tunnel was partly planned by left-wingers

· British anarchists in Calais are spurring migrants on, French police claim

· Chief believes British Left-wingers partly organised storming of tunnel

· Officers suspect activist group No Borders is among those involved

By From Emily Kent Smith In Calais For The Daily Mail

British anarchists living in Calais are ‘manipulating’ migrants into using more aggressive tactics, French police claimed yesterday.
The head of a major police union said he believed the storming of the Channel Tunnel on Sunday morning was partly organised by British Left-wingers.
The incident, which was one of the most dramatic so far in Calais, involved migrants tearing down fences and chanting ‘Open the borders’ as police reinforcements sped towards the tracks to prevent people reaching the tunnel.

the rest plus videos here

OK ..... Now here’s a quote from from the EC mentioned above.
This is his lame brained solution.

EU CHIEF: LEADERS MUST IGNORE CALLS TO TURN AWAY MIGRANTS

European leaders should ignore ‘populist’ demands to turn away migrants, the president of the European Commission has said.

Jean-Claude Juncker called on countries to accept those arriving in Europe, adding: ‘There are moments in politics when you must not follow the populists, otherwise you become populist yourself. You must say the opposite of what [the populists] say. You must not become blinded by populist thought which is present in every country.’

He added that the situation at Calais ‘plunges me into the most complete distress’ and pledged to help Britain and France ease the problems.

(he just doesn’t say how to accomplish that little thing but being of the left we can imagine. passports for all?)

the west just hasn’t the stomach to end this, by killing all of them including their enablers

H/T Breitbart News

I think I mentioned this without posting the whole story. Does have some interest though and so posting now.

I have banged on for a very long time about the (mostly white) enablers, the 5th column and organized anarchists.  Not because I had any greater insight than any of our readers.  It’s just that living here I read what those enablers and traitors themselves say out loud.  And I know I’ve said it before and more than once but it’s worth hammering home again.  Those miserable creeps are at work in the USA as well as over here, and often they are based in Europe to begin with.  And they find useful idiots in America to go along with their ruinous program.

see photo and see if you can spot the enablers. this’ll be a hard one cos they all look alike. right?

btw .... nigrants are also changing tactics over last few days by trying to crowd the ferries.

Now migrants target ferries to the UK: Hundreds cause mile-long traffic jam before riot police surround Jungle and block access to the terminal

Migrants caused traffic jam after trying to jump on lorries boarding ferries
Riot police surrounded ‘Jungle’ camp and blocked off entrance to terminal
Marks change for migrants, who have focused efforts on Channel Tunnel

By Emily Kent Smith In Calais For The Daily Mail

Hundreds of migrants caused a huge traffic jam outside the port of Calais yesterday after trying to jump on to lorries boarding ferries bound for Britain.

French riot police responded by surrounding the makeshift camp in the town known as the Jungle and blocking off parts of the motorway to the terminal.

Hundreds of cars and lorries were forced to queue for more than a mile as they waited to board boats back to the UK.

An hour before the chaos near the port, migrants could be seen walking alongside a Eurotunnel train having successfully made it through fences blocking the tracks. Despite new cameras installed above them, they were not intercepted.

A spokesman for the port of Calais said strikes by MyFerryLink workers meant that traffic had built up on the roads as services were delayed or cancelled, adding that the migrants had used this as an opportunity to try to jump on to slow-moving lorries.

Posters Tell Migrants to Say They Are Gay to Claim Asylum

by Donna Rachel Edmunds

image

Posters advising migrants to pretend to be gay in order to claim asylum in the UK have sprung up at the Calais migrant camp known as The Jungle. The extensive, detailed advice is written in both English and Arabic. It is not known who posted it.

According to the Daily Mail, the posters have been attached to a caravan at the entrance to The Jungle. It suggests that migrants chose a “category” which proves their life would be endangered if they returned to their homeland. Among the options listed are “race and religion” and “being gay in some countries.”

Migrants are urged to “prepare their story well from the beginning”, and to take into account whether their “story fits well with them,” (the UK government) suggesting that a credible story be concocted.

When facing asylum interviews, the migrants are advised to “try and remember” all the details of “what happened”, and to take written notes in with them. Some information on what sort of questions are likely to be asked is also included.

So far none of the organisations working at The Jungle has claimed responsibility for the posters, and no individuals have stepped forward. It could have been posted by any one of a number of organisations working there, many of whom show solidarity toward the immigrants.

One such group as No Borders, lists remarkably similar advice on its website in a range of languages. The advice on the website asserts “Asylum is a right guaranteed for everyone under international law,” but highlights the need to convince the authorities of the danger of being returned home.

It lists categories for claiming asylum including “race; religion; nationality; political opinion; or membership of a particular social group (such as being a woman, gay and so on),” adding: “Think carefully about which of the above categories applies to you and how your story fits in with them. But even if your political asylum is refused, there might be other reasons (called humanitarian grounds) that may allow you to stay in the UK, such as discrimination, family life and so on. Ask about that!”

No Borders hold regular workshops in The Jungle on how to gain asylum in Britain. Over the weekend, members of No Borders erected a wooden plaque promising to provide migrants with all “they n/ever wanted to know about asylum in the UK.”

The group have declared that it is “bored of borders” and that there should be “no global borders”. Group members live in The Jungle with the migrants, and carry out protests alongside the migrants.

Another poster in the camp lists guidelines for migrants, telling them what to do if UK border police stop them. They are told not to answer any questions, or give their name or address.

In the year to March Britain received 31,945 asylum applications, around 44 per cent of which were accepted. However this year’s tally is likely to be much higher as the whole of Europe has been experiencing a huge influx of migrants in the last few months.

Germany, which has the highest number of applications of asylum seekers of any European country, registered nearly 74,000 migrants between January and April, followed by 79,000 in July alone.

There are some 5,000 migrants camped outside Calais at the moment hoping to catch a ride on lorries or through the channel tunnel. Around 3,500 of those are expected to be successful. It has been estimated that numbers in Calais may rise to 10,000 by the end of the summer.

FBI won’t find the crime right in front of them

FBI: Clinton Email Probe Is Criminal, Not Civil, Investigation

Well, no kidding. It damn well ought to be. And we’ve been looking at her guilt stains for months now. So this means the probe ... will go all Sergeant Schultz and see noth-ink, noth-ink, noth-ink! And she’ll walk. And the GOP will take the blame. Because they suck that much. THAT much.

image

The FBI investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s unsecured email account is not just a fact-finding venture — it’s a criminal probe, sources told The Post on Wednesday.

The feds are investigating to what extent Clinton relied on her home server and other private devices to send and store classified documents, according to a federal source with knowledge of the inquiry.

“It’s definitely a criminal probe,” said the source. “I’m not sure why they’re not calling it a criminal probe.

“The DOJ [Department of Justice] and FBI can conduct civil investigations in very limited circumstances,” but that’s not what this is, the source stressed. “In this case, a security violation would lead to criminal charges. Maybe DOJ is trying to protect her campaign.”

Clinton’s camp has downplayed the inquiry as civil and fact-finding in nature. Clinton herself has said she is “confident” that she never knowingly sent or received anything that was classified.

The inspector general for the intelligence community has told Congress that of 40 Clinton emails randomly reviewed as a sample of her correspondence as secretary of state, four contained classified information.

If it is proved that Clinton knowingly sent, received or stored classified information in an unauthorized location, she risks prosecution under the same misdemeanor federal security statute used to prosecute former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus, said former federal prosecutor Bradley Simon.

The statute — which was also used to prosecute Bill Clinton’s national security adviser, Sandy Berger, in 2005 — is rarely used and would be subject to the discretion of the attorney general.

Still, “They didn’t hesitate to charge Gen. Petraeus with doing the same thing, downloading documents that are classified,” Simon said. “The threshold under the statute is not high — they only need to prove there was an unauthorized removal and retention” of classified material, he said.

a mark shy

Rats. We split it 3-4 last night, against a team that wasn’t even there. Ok, they had pre-bowled, so there were scores. But without their physical presence, we had the silly idea that we would get out of there faster. Oh, how wrong. We actually wound up staying late, getting some tips from the owner, but that’s another tale. Lead with the inside of your forearm was the gist of that; it keeps your hand straight and keeps your elbow in, leading to a nice straight swing and reducing the chances of over turning your hand on the release.

Right. I threw Ok in the first game, nothing great, and we lost that one by a few pins. Their score was down in the second game, and we threw poorly, but poorly good enough (sounds like a misnomer, right?), and we won by at least 40. Come the third game, and they had posted some good numbers, well over 120 over their team average. I said it’s time to buckle down, get focused, relax and bowl our best. Our anchor went 24 over. I finally figured out that the adjustment I needed was more speed, so I raised my push-away and got the ball zooming, and churned out a 35 over average game. So I did my part I feel. Dear little Life Partner was over too. Not sure how the noob guy did, but he was pretty floppy all night. Which is getting a bit annoying at this point. Improve already, geez. Anyway, come the final throw, total up the scores, and we’re 10 behind. Crivens. So they took 2 wins for 4, and we had 1 win and the wood for 3.  I don’t know how that will affect us in the standings, but we’re 13 out of first and it’s nearly the end of the season, so any dreams of victory are just dreams. Hey, summer league. Have fun, enjoy the air conditioning, have a beer. Good enough.

Dig A Bigger Ditch, Make Money In Your Spare Time

Suez II To Open Tomorrow

image

Two years ahead of schedule, Egypt’s $8 Billion project could double traffic, cut transit time, increase allowable ship size ... and make Egypt a fortune?

CAIRO — When construction of the Suez Canal began more than 150 years ago, it took a decade to complete the vital passageway that connects the Mediterranean Sea and Red Sea. The expanded waterway that opens Thursday was completed in only one year, just a third of the time originally planned.

Swift completion of the $8 billion project is being touted by the government as a sign of its competence under President Abdel el-Sissi, the former military commander who ousted and jailed Egypt’s first democratically elected president two years ago.

“This is Egypt’s gift to the world. We promised and we delivered,” said Admiral Mohab Mameesh, the retired commander-in-chief of the Egyptian navy and chairman of the state-owned Suez Canal Authority, which owns and operates the waterway.

The expansion, much of it funded by the sale of investment certificates to private citizens, involved widening and deepening the original waterway and adding a parallel canal nearly 22 miles long. El-Sissi had demanded that the three-year timetable for the project be sped up.

“I think it’s extremely impressive that they have done this very big project in a very short time. That’s astonishing,” said Peter Hinchliffe, secretary-general of the International Chamber of Shipping, who visited the new canal last week.

The widening will increase traffic from 50 ships a day to 97 and reduce the time to travel through the canal from around 18 hours to 11 hours, according to Mahmoud Rezk, director of planning and research at the Suez Canal Authority. Annual profits from the canal will more than double from $5.3 billion to $13.2 billion by 2023, Rezk predicted.

In addition to expanding the canal, the government has ambitious plans to develop a massive industrial and transportation hub nearby that would create jobs and boost an economy ravaged by years of political unrest.

Nice. “Gift to the world”, indeed. But ... is it a gift the world needs now? Or even later?

image

“From a shipping industry point of view, this initiative to expand the Suez canal was a bit of a surprise,” said Ralph Leszczynski, Singapore-based head of research at Genoese shipbroker Banchero Costa & Co. “There was no pressing need or requests for this as far as I’m aware.”

Suez has yet to fully recover since the global financial crisis caused shipping to plummet in 2009. Though total tonnage has increased, the number of vessels using the canal remains 20 percent below its 2008 level and just 2 percent higher than a decade ago, data compiled by Bloomberg show.

Rather than a bottleneck, analysts say those statistics reflect slower global trade growth, which the International Monetary Fund expects to average 3.4 percent in the period 2007-2016, compared with 7 percent over the previous decade.

The Baltic Dry Index, which measures rates for shipping iron ore, coal and grain and is viewed as a bellwether for the global economy, slumped to a record low 509 points in February. It remains about 90 percent below its all-time high of 11,793 reached in 2008.
...
The government hasn’t made public viability studies to show how it will gain a return on its 64 billion Egyptian pound ($8.2 billion) investment. The expansion will meet future demand, with traffic expected to double to 97 vessels a day by 2023, said Mohab Mameesh, head of the Suez Canal Authority.

“By creating a second lane of the canal we are able to reduce waiting times, which reduces fuel expenditures and costs, with no increase in our toll fees,” he said in an e-mailed response to questions.

Global trade volume would need to rise by around 9 percent a year for Suez to reach its traffic goal, Capital Economics said in a report on Monday, describing the target as “unlikely to say the least.”

Dredging the original canal another 2 meters deep may also allow many “CapeMax” sized ships - those that previously were too deep to transit the canal, and thus had to go the long way around Africa via the Cape of Good Hope [Cape Alguhas actually]- to use the Suez. Currently, the “bounding box” limits the “SuezMax", class of vessels to a maximum draft of 20.1 meters for ships 50m or less in beam, or 12 meters for ships up to 74m in beam. The Suez Canal has no locks; it’s open water from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean. This means that there is no length limit for SuezMax ships. An extra meter or two of draft would allow most of the largest ships in the world to use the route.

All we need to do is get the global economy running again.

Security has been stepped up along the canal ahead of tomorrow’s ceremony, which is expected to be attended by el-Sissi and foreign dignitaries.

Military spokesman Brigadier General Mohammed Samir said extra troops have been deployed to ‘deal with threats and potential aggression.’

Some analysts say security remains a concern for foreign investors, whose capital is needed for the next stage of the project - the expansion of the canal zone to include a logistics hub and manufacturing centres.

The canal extension has stirred intense national fervor. Cairo’s Tahrir Square is decked with lights, TV networks are running countdown clocks, and some visitors arriving at Cairo’s airport have been given commemorative passport stamps calling the canal ‘Egypt’s gift to the world.’

One organizer of the opening, interviewed on popular private broadcaster Mahwar, said no one should doubt the project’s grandeur.

‘For those who are skeptical or denying, tell me who they are so that we can drown them in the new canal’s 27-metre depth,’ Sami Abdel-Azizi said.

The TV presenter replied: ‘No, we will do that for you.’

columnist questioned by police for comparing migrants to ‘cockroaches’ , which they are!

This country is through, it’s finished,.
In fact …. this country may be dead, but nobody has thought to bury the stinking and decaying corpse.

And to think …. I’ve been saying much the same on bmews for a long time.  She could have been reading me here at bmews.

I guess I could be next.

The lady in question here, is perhaps the least politically correct person in the country, myself aside.

Take a look readers.

It’s now come to this.

Katie Hopkins questioned by police for ‘inciting racial hatred’ with migrants column

Controversial columnist attends central London police station under caution over piece in The Sun comparing migrants to ‘cockroaches’

Katie Hopkins, the outspoken newspaper columnist, has been questioned by police over allegations she incited racial hatred with an article about migrants.

The controversial media personality was criticised for a piece in The Sun in April in which she compared asylum seekers to “cockroaches”.

Hopkins, 40, also said she would use “gunships” to halt boats from crossing the Mediterranean just a day after hundreds of migrants were killed off the Sicilian coast.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed it received allegations of incitement of racial hatred following an article published on April 17.

A spokesman confirmed a 40-year-old woman was interviewed under caution at a central London police station, but was not arrested.
The column is alleged to have dehumanised migrants by labelling them “feral” and describing them as “spreading like norovirus”.

Well shiver me timbers.  She calls em as she sees em and what’s more, she is correct. Oh, and speaking of feral, a French policeman was slashed across the face and ear by one of these unspeakably filthy cockroaches this week, and required hospitalization.

And … some very good news to report. I love this.  It’s reported minutes ago on BBC news, that possibly 700 migrants may have drowned and there are even exciting photos that lifted my spirits. Google migrant boat capsizes. Sorry the number isn’t much higher.  And as for Miss Hopkins inciting hatred.  Bullshit!  People just have to see the news and see what chaos this invasion is causing.  Seeing the daily news is inciting all by itself.  You folks reading this, don’t see all that people on this side of the water see everyday. It would be very surprising indeed if nobody was incited to view these migrants as a curse and with some great amount of dislike. And even hate. Why should feeling hate and saying so, be an action that has to be answered to?

The bad news?  Some 400 were saved.

Hopkins’ piece was reported to police by Peter Herbert, the Chair Society of Black Lawyers. He earlier claimed it included “some of the most offensive, xenophobic and racist comments I have read in a British newspaper for some years”.
The column also prompted the UN high commissioner for human rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, to denounce Hopkins for using racist language and comparing her comments to pro-genocide propaganda.

Hopkins, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, prides herself on never having apologised for anything she has said.
But, speaking last month, she said: “There’s some things about that column, there are some words which in hindsight you’d probably look to pull out of there.
“But I think overall my message isn’t about the idea that we want to see migrants and people suffering, it’s an idea that we need to find solutions to problems.”
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “The Metropolitan Police Service received allegations of incitement of racial hatred following an article published on 17th April.
“The Special Enquiry Team of the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

Bad allergies this week, or getting sick. Bad cough, tons of post nasal drip. Crap. I hate being sick when the weather’s nice. I don’t like it much when the weather’s poor either, but it seems more fitting somehow.

Finally We Have An Answer

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

To kill the evil infidel!!!

image

ISIS now using ‘suicide chickens’ to kill enemies

The barbaric terror group is using bomb vests strapped to poultry in an effort to blow up enemy strongholds.

Commanders can detonate them via remote control in a sickening addition to the murderous regime’s arsenal.

But experts said the crude devices show the chaotic state of the group who, despite its murderous bravado, is having to deal with supply issues.

The group is running low on ammunition as forces target delivery lines leading to Syria and Iraq.

Fighters are now resorting to making their own bombs and mortar shells using gas canisters and fertiliser smuggled over the border from Turkey.

Photos also show the terrorists using shopping trolleys and arming them with deadly machine guns.

It is believed fighters have no heavy lorries available so have to improvise to transport the weaponry.

top 50 at the hill

The Hill, DC’s insider-ish news site, did one of their meaningless annual surveys and came up with a list of The 50 Most Beautiful People In Washington DC.

The nominees all work in or around politics in DC, so I guess that includes politicians, staff, lobbyists, and journalists.

Playing a bit of CYA I think, they put Michelle Obama at #9, and Fox New’s Shannon Bream in at #10. Somewhere in the list of 50 they stop publishing the numbers, perhaps out of excessive political correctness to avoid triggers. ("I’m on The Hill’s Most Beautiful list!” “Yeah, at #39. You cow.") Marco Rubio makes the cut as well. There were no age limits, and the contest was open to anyone, so the list isn’t completely filled with former beauty queens now working as executive assistants (eg Courtney Parella, #42, R, Miss Mississippi College 2013).

And the winner is ...

1. Taylor Weeks
Hometown: Houston
Age: 23
Relationship Status: Dating
Party Affiliation: Republican

Taylor Weeks has always been a standout, even at the age when everyone was just trying to fit in.

“Middle school is never good for anyone, especially if you have red hair and you’re 7 feet tall!” exclaimed Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) legislative correspondent, who’s actually 5 feet 10 inches.

But these days, Weeks has her flame-haired “team,” including two redheaded colleagues: “We have some backup.”

The Netflix lover gets fired up talking about her Lone Star State roots. She proudly features a Texas flag and a cactus at her desk.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
