The shovel squad woke me up again. 4:42am the guy is outside my window, scrape scrape scraaaaaaape, cough cough. Because it snowed again. And it seems to snow every weekend, if not every damn day.
So I’ll spend a few minutes blogging while he works, since I’m wide awake. And freezing!
Ok good. I’ve had my cup of tea. And balanced my fluid levels. And been extra quiet because she’s such a light sleeper.
I’ve run the hot water bottle through the microwave and got it boiling hot. Because, surprise!!, the heat isn’t working in the bedroom. Since last night. Say what?? Now I have another damn project that HAS to be done.
Back to bed.

Bowling Sux
Damnation. Out bowled again. 2-5. Really strange conditions. We had the center pair of lanes, directly across from the front door. And it’s the coldest night of the season, a real record breaker out there. So for almost the first time ever, the alley wasn’t overly warm. I don’t want to get too into it, but the oil was just a frothy mess tonight. It wouldn’t stay put, floating around like it was on ice. Nearly instant breakdown, the edges went bone dry by the end of Game 1, and by the start of Game 3 the back end was frightfully over reactive. And down the middle, all the oil was mounded into two or three thin strips. Hit one and it was slide city, no ball reaction until the last foot or so. Miss one and it was like putting cleats on your ball; watch it catch, dig, and run away from the midlanes. So I guess it became power ball night, just slam the thing down range hard with a bit of spin on, and hope for the best. I came out 2 pins under average for my series for the night, and my last game was 25 over. So it was not a great night for me.
It was a worse night for our team. Or what’s left of it. Mr. Mopey, J, still pining for the ex. Dude, you guys weren’t married. You were just playing Brady Bunch while dating. And I’m sure you were even co-habbing it. And it was over early last summer. Move on already, jeesh. So tonight the ex was bowling in the lanes right next to us. “I dunno if I can take this. I probably won’t be back next year. I hope I can finish this year. I dunno. This is so hard for me.” Friggin great. We already got burned the past 3 weeks with our fill in 4th guy who shat on us. We got burned tonight for the Vacancy, because a vacancy is just a flat score, and never ever a real bowler who you can rely on, or who will pull a miracle out every once in a while. Like our opponents 4th bowler, who threw the best night of her life against us ( of course! ) Now we’ll be down to just the two of us, me and the wife? On this league too? That makes 3 ... 4 ... maybe 5 times this has happened? There aren’t any other leagues we can go to. Damnation, we aren’t anti-social. We have fun. We try to be fun. We’re not snobs. We’re not over competitive. We try so hard to suck it up when things go bad, and not sulk for more than a couple seconds. What more do you want? And yeah, we’re willing to buy the beer, or some wings, or a round of shots. Not every time, but often or more. Mopey J won’t even have a beer. Or a soda or a coffee either. He just sits there. So maybe it will be small loss if he evaporates. But gosh darn, I want an actual team. A team I can rely on. Rely on to actually show up. Every week. To actually bowl. Every week. To actually bowl halfway decently, at least half the time. To pay their dues. Every week. To be a bit social and outgoing. Is that so damn much to ask? 4 people, and we’re providing 2 of them? Horry clap. This sux.

So, enough with the denials. It is time to raise the alarm. We have a problem!
It is not a coincidence that for over a decade we, Muslims, dominated the world record in mindless televised massacres.
There is obviously a propensity towards eliminating “the other”, imbedded deep within Wahabist ideology.
It is not only foolish to deny this fact, it is also dangerous, for we would be covering the cancerous tumour with a bandage.
What we cannot deny is that many of the Wahabist textbooks are the same operating manuals that Islamist butchers use to justify their savagery.
For example, very few people know that while Muath was being set on fire in that macabre video, the voiceover was a recitation of an Ibn Taymiyah fatwa deeming the incineration of unbelievers a legitimate act of jihad.
Ibn Taymiyah is not some obscure scholar on the fringe of Sunni Islam. In the Sunni world, he is universally venerated with the title “Sheikh of Islam”, elevating him to an almost infallible clerical status.
A Jordanian lawyer points out, in the Jordan Times online, how Wahabism has taken over the Sunni branch and has corrupted that faith. Completely. ( Ibn Taymiyah was the guy who invented Wahabism in the 1200s. )
He calls for finding and excising the specific texts.
He does NOT point the finger at the Saudis, who are the absolute owners of Wahabism and have been pushing it for decades with their oil wealth. And providing money for mosques all over the world. And providing input for social studies textbooks all over the world, including right here.
He does NOT call of the elimination of Wahabism and the purification of Sunnism, returning it to its doctrines circa 1930.
Still, baby steps are better than no steps.

A gym teacher at the Costley Middle School in East Orange ran a major indoor marijuana farm in his home, which was discovered when police executed a search warrant as part of a child pornography investigation, state authorities said today.
“JB” (name removed and link redacted by his request because he is not yet convicted of any of these charges), 37, of Roselle, who is also the head wrestling coach at East Orange Campus High School, was arrested Friday after allegedly uploading child pornography to a Google+ photo account using a computer at a school facility, the Attorney General’s Office said.
Authorities said the investigation began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which indicated that images were uploaded from an IP address in a school district facility using an email address later traced to JB.
“It’s appalling that a man entrusted with instructing and mentoring young students as a teacher and coach allegedly was dealing drugs and sexually exploiting children by viewing child pornography online,” acting state Attorney General John Hoffman said.
An attorney for JB could not be reached for comment. Authorities said he has been an employee of the East Orange School District since 2000. The most recent available state pension records indicate JB earned $86,592 in 2013.
The superintendent, Gloria Scott, declined to provide any personnel information, including what action, if any, had been taken, whether he had been suspended, or whether he would be fired.
“I am aware of the situation and I am cooperating fully with the authorities,” Scott said in a statement. “We cannot share any personnel information.”
She added the district would be communicating with parents, students and teachers.
The state public records law requires public agencies to release certain personnel information including an individual’s name, title, position, salary, payroll record, length of service, date of separation and the reason, and the amount and type of any pension.
When presented with the law, the district still declined to provide information about JB’s employment, but added he “will not be working” there “in any capacity.”
On the day of his arrest, police searched his home on Sheridan Avenue and examined his hard drive, finding several images of child pornography, authorities said. Two laptop computers, including one issued to JB by the school district, were seized, along with a desktop computer which JB allegedly could access in the high school athletic office.
Authorities said that, while executing the search warrant, police found a major “grow room” in JB’s home with approximately 40 marijuana plants, a special ventilation system, high-powered lights and chemicals used as part of the growing process.
They also seized seven handguns, four rifles, a shotgun and a homemade silencer from his home. Authorities, citing an ongoing investigation, declined to say whether JB created any pornography, or whether it included or was shared with students. They also declined to say whether he shared with or dealt marijuana to any students.
Yeah, you see it too ... it’s mostly crap charges at this point. Yes, he had a pretty big grow going on. But given the universality of pictures of naked people online, and how “slightly underage in this country” is of legal age in some other country, and how “porn” is a term subject to individual definition, I’m not really sure if the charge of “sexually exploiting children” is apt or not. It could be. The guy could be a big time pedo. He is the wrestling coach, and wrestling is creepy homo dominance shit in my opinion. With underage boys. Ewww. Or he could have a collection of titty pics from a few thousand selfies on social media. It’s not like anyone has to buy this stuff. So the “exploitation” angle could be pretty thin. I’m just saying. But he was a dumbshit for uploading from the school with his work email. How dumb is that? Middle school gym teacher career dumb?
OK, he’s gonna get burned for the grow room, but a good lawyer can plea this down. The guns can be completely legal, although the “homemade silencer” is going to hurt. But again, plea bargain time. Doesn’t sound to me like even the newspaper is buying the kiddie porn angle very much.
Drew shakes head at the stupidity of his fellow humans. And then the shocking truth hits him ... A junior high gym teacher earns EIGHTY SIX FIVE???? Horry Clap!!

Surprise! The one and only bear rehabilitation center in the entire state is just down the road from here, about 4 hills to the South.
And they have Cub Cam! Awww. 24 hours a day, yay!!
Three weeks ago, some deer hunter stepped into a den hole by mistake and had to shoot Momma Bear to save himself. Two infant cubs were rescued, one lived.
Mike the black bear cub seems to be doing Ok, living in a heated incubator box and drinking special formula from a bottle. His eyes are open now.
The Woodlands Wildlife Refuge in Pittstown NJ has a large outdoor bear habitat area to help re-acclimate healing bears to life in the wild.
So, bears 10 minutes to the South, wolves 30 minutes to the North, deer, geese, and little critters everywhere. Foxes. Woozles. Deermice! Who am I, Marlin Perkins?

Permalink • The Eagles Are Coming
An adult bald eagle and an immature one, fishing along the partially frozen Hudson River, yesterday. Stony Point NY, on the west shore of the river, is only 25 miles north of Manhattan.
Bald eagles have made an enormous comeback, and are almost common in the area along the river, both sides, miles inland, and at least 10 miles South. Which is the heart of suburbia that is the NYC bedroom community area. Like many other animals, they have adapted to “humans encroaching on their habitat” and are thriving therein. I don’t think bald eagles had been in the area in more than 150 years, certainly far more than 50.
50 years ago, this part of the Hudson and further south was almost toxic to the touch.
Actually, what was right there on the river 50 years ago was Liberty Ships. Nearly 200 of them.

Back when they needed our votes before the last election, Republicans were hairy-chested warriors, vowing to block Obama’s unconstitutional “executive amnesty”—if only voters gave them a Senate majority. The resulting Republican landslide suggested some opposition to amnesty.
...Since at least 2006, voters have insistently told pollsters they don’t want amnesty. Seemingly bulletproof Republican congressmen have lost their seats over amnesty. President Bush lost the entire House of Representatives over amnesty. What else do we have to do to convince you we don’t want amnesty, Republicans? Make it a host on “The View”?
...To gin up votes, “Republican insiders” told the Washington Examiner last fall that “the results of the midterm elections” would determine how “aggressive” the GOP would be in fighting Obama’s amnesty.
Voters gave you a blow-out victory, Republicans. You cleaned their clocks. (Have you seen Harry Reid lately?) Where’s that promised aggression on amnesty?
Republicans and George Will tell us they can’t stand up to Obama’s executive amnesty because the media are unfair.
Oh, well, in that case ... never mind.
...Tell voters what the media won’t: that Obama’s “amnesty” will give illegal aliens Social Security cards and three years of back-payments through the Earned Income Tax Credit, even though they never paid taxes in the first place.
Could we get a poll on that: Should the government issue work permits to illegal aliens and give them each $25,000 in U.S. taxpayer money? I promise you, Obama would lose that vote by at least 80-20. Even people vaguely supportive of not hounding illegal aliens out of the country didn’t sign up to open the U.S. Treasury to them.
...If a Republican majority in both houses of Congress can’t stop Obama from issuing illegal immigrants Social Security cards and years of back welfare payments, there is no reason to vote Republican ever again.

I like to kill people …. comment from a girl of 12
A few disturbing things that might cause the old RCOB to appear.
What a world we have. Yes, I know, down thru the ages from one generation to another the cry goes out that the current one is decadent beyond all reason, and some previous one much better in many ways. But today, I do honestly believe we have raised what the late author Philip Wylie called , A generation of Vipers. Not to be confused with the later sci-fi book.
I have been reading newspapers from an early age. Not because I was smart but because I was fascinated by the printed word and how writers expressed my world at that time. I also listened avidly to the news on the radio and later TV. And of course, the Gillette Cavalcade of Sports on radio and the boxing matches. Especially, most especially, when Willie Pep was fighting.
Well anyway. what I am trying to say is that with all my reading and listening and watching of later TV, the kinds of crime being done and the age of the monsters committing them, was nowhere near as young as they now appear to be.
A boy or group of boys as young as nine or ten committing rape of an 8 year old would certainly have made the headlines, just by the nature of the crime and the age of the vermin involved. And that’s at the extreme edge of criminality, the lesser tho still unacceptable would be robbery and robbery with violence, again done by a much younger group. Crimes by teens were not unheard of. The news-makers in that group were generally Puerto Rican and Negro gangs, depending on the state and city. Italians also in some measure were heard from in NY.
Lately it hasn’t been simply a one off article about 8 year olds or 12 year olds.
These days, more and more very young girls, and white at that, are committing violent acts at a younger age. And they are not all from poor ghetto families with no education. There are far different influences at play today, things the young are exposed to that we never were. Heck. Porn?
I never heard the word at the age of 10 or even at 13. And I certainly would not have seen any. Except once when someone showed me a cartoon, a cartoon mind you, that was .... well to be truthful somewhat interesting. But I didn’t even understand what I was seeing.
So ,,,, here are some examples. And these are only recent ones.

The girls told cops they attacked their friend to impress Slenderman
Preliminary hearing being heard to determine whether Geyser should be tried as an adult and not a juvenile
And here in the UK from a morning paper comes another story of yoots too young to face criminal charges and will if caught, get curfew instead of having a hand cut off.
At the age of eight, they do know better. Even in my day, a more innocent time for sure, by 8 we knew right from wrong. I think the biggest difference is that in my day, we worried about punishment which we were certain would follow.
So here we have two 8 year old thugs in training who it is reported, attacked and robbed an 80 year old woman as she got off a bus, in broad daylight. They got her purse and made off, they have not been found yet but might well be, because at that age they are sure to brag to their friends. Unfortunately though, “children” under ten can not be charged with a criminal offense, and can only be given a curfew or a child safety order. What a joke that is. Where’s the lesson in that nonsense?
I say break a few bones and fix them so they won’t be physically able to rob anyone anymore. Ever. Hey …. ya gotta start em young so they learn, and their friends can take note too.
And then there is this which reminds me greatly of a French TV series I have been watching. Same thing, thugs on mopeds and very violent ones too, as well as affiliated girl gang as violent as the guys, and maybe more so. To me, it isn’t just a TV crime drama. It’s based on events that happen in real life. I mean, when most of you like myself were in our teens or 20s, were there moped gangs running wild? There weren’t any mopeds I can recall. In this case, three scum get 23 years. But that isn’t 23 each. Where’s the justice in that?
Oh ... please forgive the digression but .... speaking of justice. Hello and good wishes American taxpayers.

May 7th in West Heath Road, NW11. The victim was on her driveway when she was approached and threatened by the suspect. The suspect took her watch and ring.
May 14th in Asmans Hill, NW11. The victim was on his driveway when approached by the suspect and threatened with a hammer. The suspect took the victim’s watch and money.
May 17th in Winnington Avenue, NW11. As the victim and his wife were leaving the park they were approached by the suspects on mopeds and threatened with a hammer. The suspects took both watches and a purse.
May 30th in a petrol station in Wellington Road. The victim was approached by suspects on mopeds. They hit his car with a hammer and threatened the victim. The suspects took his watch.
June 1st in Kidderpore Avenue, NW3. The suspect followed the victim into his garage. Smashed his vehicle window and threatened him with a hammer. The suspects took his watch and wallet.
June 17th in Hamilton Terrace, NW8. The victim was parking her car when suspects approached on two mopeds. She was threatened with a hammer. The suspects took her phone and watch. The suspects then took her handbag from the back of the car.
June 20th in St Johns Wood Road, NW8. The victim had just got out of her vehicle when she was approached by the suspects. The suspects took her watch and handbag. Police were able to recover this handbag.

Islamic State has set its sights on taking over Libya as a bridgehead to eventually waging war all across southern Europe, the British Telegraph is reporting on Wednesday.
The newspaper cited letters written by ISIS supporters.
According to the report, ISIS jihadists plan to “flood Libya with militiamen from Syria and Iraq, who will then sail across the Mediterranean posing as migrants on people-trafficking vessels.”
ISIS “would then run amok in southern European cities and also try to attack maritime shipping,” the Telegraph reported.
Italian security chiefs on Tuesday approved a plan to put 4,800 soldiers on the streets throughout the country to help guard against potential militant attacks, the Interior Ministry said.
A statement after a meeting of military and security officials said they would guard sensitive sites and targets until at least June.
OK, that’s slightly good news. It won’t work, but it’s a gnat’s hair better than doing nothing.
What will work? Drag out the Italian Air Force, load up all 5 planes with little bombs, torpedo-ettes, and lots of 27mm, and sink every single boat along the north African coast from Algiers to Tripoli. Ok, that may be a tad aggressive, so just do it defensively around Malta, Sicily, Sardinia, and southern Italy. 25 mile exclusion zones. Maybe let the Navy play along too.

What Planet Have You Been Living On?
On the one hand, I’m relieved to see that the essays put out by right-wing think tanks are getting more pointed.
On the other hand, what they are saying now is what I have been screaming about since 2007. And thousands of other “crazy” “wingnut” “VRWC” “teabagger” Conservative bloggers too.
And yet, STILL, still we have loud mouth know it alls like Bill O’Reilly, willfully blind so as to appear “balanced” walking down the middle of the road with his eyes shut tight, denying that traffic is zooming past him from one side. And he’s the crazy far rightwing one, according to vast legions of Kool-Aide drinking leftists.
Wake the heck up already you morons. I’m blue in the face at this point and I don’t know if I can shout out the warnings much longer.
And this ... treasonous criminal ... still polls in the mid 40s? My heart breaks, my brain implodes.
But of course it’s all hogwash. The knee jerk over-reaction to certain things, the under-reaction to other things, and the distraction techniques they employ are all by design.
And the design was crystal clear when, earlier this month, as part of Obama’s desperate drive to absolve Islam of any responsibility for the murderous brutality that is unfolding around the world, he had the audacity to say that the media overstates the threat of terrorism. He accused the media of exploiting terrorism because “if it bleeds, it leads.”
He spoke as if referring to ambulance chasing coverage by a tabloid magazine. It was appalling to realize this man-child was talking about coverage of genocide. Of institutionalized kidnapping, rape, torture, and all manner of barbarity under the banner of the religion he seems to love so very dearly.
Depraved does not even begin to describe Obama’s words.
When reality does not fit his script, there is no depth to which he will not sink. We have seen this play out over and over again. His determination to turn the public eye away from the awful truth before us is relentless.
It is sick. And it feels sick to be exposed to it, to him, and the abject evil he seems to embody.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot.
