We Are At War!
I’ve been busier than a one-legged man at an ass-kicking party. In addition to a miserable case of the flu, I’ve been battling evil forces on this blog site. Vilmar’s been covering for me the last twenty-four hours while I sniffle, cough and fight behind the scenes. Our server has been the target of a Denial Of Service (DOS) attack and our internal e-mail system has been the target of numerous viruses. I lost count at the 74th virus notification from our e-mail server here. I am getting the strong impression that somebody out there really doesn’t like us. Which is fine by me. I’ve installed proxies and firewalls and added over a dozen filters to our e-mail server. I’ve rebuilt our databases, changed all passwords and modified the system cache settings to get better response during this attack.
I’ve gone through all your messages about browser problems and I am investigating. I have Mozilla, Opera, Firefox and Internet Explorer on my workstation at home and am working on the style sheets and HTML to resolve any issues I can. I haven’t been able to nail down the exact reason why three or four members registrations dropped out of our database but I have plugged any holes that could be exploited to gain access.
In short, I am working as fast as I can to stop these attacks. I can’t tell you what I and Hosting Matters have done but we have installed traps to record and backtrack these pissants. I’ll let you know when we have definitive proof of who is behind it. It could be Liberals, Democrats, Al-Qaeda .... or it could just be some pissant with too much time on his hands in Bulgaria. We will find the evildoers though. You can bet on it. And you can count on me to keep any and all membership information confidential and safe.
In short, please move your trays to the upright and locked position. The captain has notified us that there may be turbulence ahead. I’ll try to smooth it out as much as possible.
In addition, I have been working on three monster posts for Sunday and Monday just prior to the election. Be prepared, I’m coming loaded for bear this time. I ain’t giving up until Kerry slithers back to Taxachusetts.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot.
