the front line in war on values of the west

I don’t know what if anything I can add to what’s been said by Drew and others here in the comments section.

I do not personally believe that all of this is simply anger and outrage and if it is, it’s been orchestrated.  Just another convenient excuse to do what these smelly, unwashed animals do as a national sport.

As you folks can imagine, the papers here are full of the happenings which have also spread to Australia.  Germany also has been attacked and here in London, about 150 of the vermin burned flags outside the US embassy with the usual chants.

Until the west gets its act together as they did in 1941, and I am not holding my breath, do not look for things to improve.

As an aside, LyndonB had some remarks in comments and frankly I have to say I’m with him.  I think Obama still has a good shot at re-election but even if he loses, don’t look for any administration to do what so desperately needs doing.  And I think most of us are aware of just what that might be.

Maybe I should spell it out. 
Immediate executions of those terrorists being held if no intel can be gleaned from them, nuclear attacks. Kill and keep killing until there just isn’t anything left alive to kill.  I’ve said that before.  I still mean it.

Listening to radio news and reports of two US Marines killed as Taliban breached security at air base, first reports say some planes on ground were damaged and a large number of the bearded filth were killed and one captured.
Look for that one to demand asylum here and collect benefits.

Stoned, burned, and pillaged, the West’s diplomatic missions became the new front line in a war on the values for which their governments and societies stand.

From Nigeria in Africa’s west, to Bangladesh in Asia’s east, the freedoms which the United States and Europe thought were a beacon to the world were assaulted with stone and fire. Plumes of black smoke rose above western embassies in allies and “pariah” states alike.

On Friday, the British embassy in Sudan, once a place where the Empire pursued its romantic, if quixotic vision of development, was stormed.

Chanting crowds took to the streets of cities as disparate as Jerusalem and Madras, Tripoli in Lebanon – where they burned down a Kentucky Fried Chicken – and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, shouting messages of hate.

There can be little Islamist complaint about the West’s current role in Egypt, which less than three months ago chose as its first ever democratically elected leader a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The demonstrators were not this time complaining about western military intervention in their own countries; instead they were objecting to how western countries conduct their own affairs, their refusal to enact laws of blasphemy protecting Islam.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
