Quote Of The Day

Harry Reid is a dangerous man. The man has lost all sense of honor, decency and self-respect. He, along with other members of The Party Of Treason™, are fully prepared to run up the white flag and surrender today. No if’s and’s or but’s about it.

What I don’t understand is why Imus is fired for name-calling but Harry Reid gets away with calling the President Of The United States a “liar, a loser and in a state of denial” and gets away with it.

With that being said, there are two things in Reid’s comments below that worry me greatly ...

(1) He says he “represents this country”, which is an absolute falsehood. I didn’t vote for or against Harry Reid when he was elected Senator from Nevada and I don’t know of anyone outside of that state who did. His claim to “represent this country” is arrogance and egotism beyond belief. In fact, he is only one of a hundred bloviating, bullshit artists in the Senate. Only one man in Washington was elected by a vote of all the people in this country ... and it aint’ Harry Reid.

(2) The second thing, and the one that really frightens me, is his pronouncement that “[the Constitution] calls for us to be equal to [President Bush].” Reid either can’t read or is completely daft. Congress and the President each have their constitutionally defined and assigned duties. The President cannot pass legislation or approve spending and Congress cannot command the military or set foreign policy and negotiate with other countries. It’s as simple as that.

Not only is Reid attempting to belittle the President and denigrate the office of President of the United States by calling the current holder of that office slanderous names but he has evidently elevated himself to the level of supreme commander of all US military forces. If that doesn’t scare you then you’re obviously not paying attention to the increasingly maniacal ratcheting up of the war between Democrats and the President.

The fact is, the Democrats are way off base on this one and they know it. More importatnly, the mainstream media are giving them a free ride on this madness, which if allowed to continue will destroy the republic. Ask yourself this: what if Reid were a Republican and a Democrat was President, and the same accusations and actions took place - do you think the MSM would be quiet about it for even a second or that the Democrats would quietly let a Republican get away with this? Not on your life.

The Party Of Divisiveness has morphed into the Party Of Treason against this republic and must be stopped ... one way or another. They are dragging us down a long, dark road that leads to ... nothing good for our country - and more than likely a lot of bad. In fact, I have a bad feeling that Democrats and their Leftist minions are only a small step away from going completely around the bend and plotting to assassinate the President.

As Caesar said to Antony in Shakespeare’s play, “"Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look, He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.” So goes Harry Reid in today’s tragedy ....

DANA BASH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: You in the past have called President Bush a liar. You’ve called him a loser. And just today, just a few minutes ago, you said he is in a state of denial. This is becoming personal, isn’t it?

SENATOR HARRY REID (D-NV): No, not at all. I’m a trial lawyer. I’ve tried over 100 cases to juries. I have never had a case where I had held any ill will toward the opposing lawyer. In this situation, I have is a job to do. I represent the people of the state of Nevada. I represent this country.

The president is part of the executive branch of government. I’m part of the legislative branch of government. And for his six years as president, he has not had to deal with us. This is a new experience for him, but the Constitution that I have right here in my pocket calls for us being equal to him.

Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:

1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
