PAYING A FLYING VISIT AND BACK TO BED.

Difficult days not to mention nights. What the heck. Many have worse than a nagging back ache.

Allow me to introduce you to a loving, kind and civilized family member.
Not mine thankfully.
Just another member of the ROP.

Meriam Ibrahim, the woman sentenced to death for apostasy, was “given a magic potion” to bewitch her into leaving Islam – and should be executed for doing so, her brother has said.
Al Samani Al Hadi Mohamed Abdullah said that he denounced his sister to the authorities because his family are “Muslim people.” He claimed that Ms Ibrahim, 27, was born as Abrar Al Hadi but changed her name when she was drugged by her husband, Daniel Wani. And he said that, if she did not return to the devout family fold, she should be hanged.
Well heck. What’s a god fearing brother to do after all?
She said she always followed her mother’s faith, which was Christian. Which naturally made her case all the worse.

THE KIND FOLKS OF THE ROP

What a world we now inhabit.
Last month there was an accident on a freeway in which it was reported that 1500 chickens were killed.

I do seriously believe that the fruitcakes at PETA were not kidding. I could be wrong of course.

· Several hundred live birds escaped on to the M62 motorway after the crash
· Accident took place at 4.15am near Eccles Interchange, Great Manchester
· Lorry was carrying 6,000 chickens when it shed its load on to motorway
· The M62 has been shut eastbound as workers try to round up the chickens
· Commuters took to Twitter to discuss and complain about the incident

And maybe another reason to avoid a visit to the doctor.
He’ll only send you to a vet.
I couldn’t make this up.

Doctor told mum: I can’t treat your girl ... take her to a vet! GP gave up trying to extract tick from 5-year-old’s head
· Paula Binns took five-year-old Lilyanna to the GP after noticing the tiny parasite on her head while she plaited her hair
· She has made a formal complaint claiming the doctor at the practice in Walkden told her to seek advice from a vet instead
· 26-year-old said the family contacted a vet who said they could not help
· A neighbour eventually removed the tick using tweezers
· Blood-sucking parasites can infect humans with debilitating Lyme disease

When the family contacted a vet’s practice, they were told it did not treat humans but could supply a tick removal tool. Lilyanna’s discomfort was eventually relieved by a neighbour who sterilised tweezers and extracted the parasite.
Yesterday Miss Binns, from Walkden, Salford, said: ‘My daughter’s a human being, not an animal – it’s a shocking way to treat a little girl.’

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:

3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
