NEW CHAT ROOM FEATURE
Well, I've gone and done it now. I've been toying with the idea ever since we opened this blog but kept deciding against it for various reasons. Then, I noticed the guys at DGCI decided to go ahead with the concept. Not many bloggers open chat rooms, preferring to let readers vent their spleen and discuss the topics in their comments to posts. Having on-line real-time discussions is something that I think is sorely needed in the Blogosphere and I thank the guys at DGCI for finally nudging me into implementing this here.All you need is a java-enabled web browser (if you are reading this, you probably already have one). No third-party messenger (AIM, Yahoo, MSN or ICQ) is required. Simply click on the "Chat Room" button in the Sidebar and follow the instructions. The Chat Room will be open 24/7 year-round. Vilmar and I will pop in occasionally to see what's going on and we will also schedule on-line discussion forums to let you talk to us directly about current events .... or whatever is on your mind.
The Chat Room is open to everyone. It is unmoderated and uncensored so try to behave. We do not record conversations or log users. In other words, anything goes. Free and open discussion is our greatest birthright and should be encouraged. However, with that said, be aware that there is an "Ignore" feature if some bloody Moonbat starts spouting drivel.
We hope you enjoy this new feature and welcome any comments on it.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
