more on law and disorder, an update of no surprise to anyone.

They where lead on by the events of the time, it was not their fault, carried away by the momentum of the riots, it was the fault of those they robbed, and so on went the rant of the liberals and the far left; so what will their excuse be this time?

That is one of the best comments with regard to the riots and city burnings of last year.  And those were the exact excuses made.  As well as, oh how harsh the sentences for some who only ...... blah,blah.

Anyway, this caught my eye only minutes ago and it’s worth sharing. But it will not surprise anybody. Of course the libs will never accept it and that’s a major part of the problem(s) faced by society. 

Here’s another.

If you punish an offender severely he might not offend again. That would mean that he wouldn’t be generating any more work for legal aid lawyers. The law industry would suffer. Can’t have that. Lawyers need criminals to be out here offending. Judges need criminals out here. Social workers and the probation service need criminals. These geese are laying golden eggs.

Almost half of those held over the riots have been re-arrested for a catalogue of crimes including rape, threats to kill and robbery.

Days before the anniversary of the disorder, official figures show that 44 per cent of riot suspects have been arrested on suspicion of committing fresh offences within the last 12 months.

The statistics, released under the Freedom of Information Act, have raised serious questions over the penalties handed out to offenders.

More than half of those locked up over the riots are already free and thousands more have evaded justice. Police in Nottingham made 143 arrests following the disorder in August last year. Of these, 86 were charged.

But in the last 12 months, 72 suspects – half of those arrested – have been held again for crimes including rape, arson, robbery, threats to kill and breaching bail or parole conditions.

The force said some of these offenders had been arrested for multiple crimes since their release.

In Bristol, 28 of the 53 arrested have faced further police action.

They are accused of carrying out 20 thefts and robberies, two rapes, nine assaults, 16 drugs offences and 14 of them have skipped bail, gone on the run or failed to comply with community orders, said Avon and Somerset Police.

Some of the largest police forces, such as the Metropolitan Police, have been unable to calculate the proportion of reoffending due to the sheer number of cases it had to deal with.
