More Insane Lefty Talking Points

The Left, spreading teh manure meme they want everyone to believe.

This time, it’s “Tea Party = Dixiecrats = Racists”.

I kid you not.

Here’s the video link to NYC crook, shyster, and representative Charlie Rangel “saying that very thing on CNN.

And here’s an article from The New Yorker from the very same day! It’s like they have a national daily distribution system or something!

It’s a done deal in their minds. Tea Party = Racist = Enemy, Domestic.

My head is spinning. And apparently, they even TEACH this Dixiecrat “connection” thing in college poli-sci classes.

The Confederate flag was featured prominently in the raucous demonstrations in front of the memorial and the White House—a bit of iconography that at least did the public the favor of connecting the historical dots. The flag, defended by its stalwarts as an apolitical symbol of Southern pride, actually came to prominence not in the aftermath of the Civil War but eighty years later, in defiance of civil rights. The massive resistance campaigns that inspired the Southern Manifesto and shut down school districts rather than comply with Brown v. Board of Education were orchestrated under the banner of the Stars and Bars. The election that galvanized the brand of racialized acrimony and indignation we’re now seeing in the country was not the one that brought Barack Obama to office in 2008; it was the one in 1948, which brought us the Dixiecrats.

The rise of the Dixiecrat Party, like that of the Tea Party sixty years later, was ostensibly the result of one faction within a political party coming to believe its policy interests had been neglected. But on a more fundamental level ...

blah blah blah. So now the Conservative Tea Party inherits the sins of the super-racist branch of the Democratic Party, from 1948. Strom Thurmond would be Sarah Palin’s new forever bestie if he wasn’t completely dead already.

Riiiight.

If we care to recall it, there is a direct and historical relationship between the ideological commitment to small government and the belief that the government’s priorities are skewed toward racial minorities. Federal intervention in the Little Rock desegregation crisis and Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society initiatives hardened the conviction among some whites that government worked predominantly on behalf of minority communities.

That those people were called Democrats in those days, and still are, has no bearing on this “perceived truth”. Nor does the other percieved truth, that a HUGE piece of the government is a jobs program for those minorities, and that untold billions have been spent, largely wasted, on all kinds of plans to help/aid/uplift those very same minorities.  People get upset at what they call “BRA” because they see it everywhere they look, and they find themselves labeled as some kind of enemies by the country they so strongly support (sound familiar white man?) So let’s drag the blanket amnesty issue into it too, because anyone who is not 100% behind just throwing open the borders and letting our nation be even further overrun by another 30 million or so foreigners who should not be here is of course ... a racist. And therefore an Enemy, Domestic. aka a Tea Party person.

Flaming shit on a shingle. I think I’m going to change the name of this blog to Domestic Enemy. Why not? That’s what being in favor of a normal, classic America means these days. Because, now that we’ve all been fundamentally transformed, white is black, down is up, and we live in inside-out Bizarro World, therefore true patriots are enemies of the State.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:

1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
