Is there a contrapositive race card?

I spent a couple hours today trying, again, to get a handle on Mr. Obama. I still can’t do it. I like a good speaker as much as anyone, but I’m looking for the steak and I’m hardly even finding any sizzle. But I am hearing about what a great barbeque grill we’re all going to have somewhere down the road. Don’t worry; those rich people who earn $75,000 or more per year will pay for it.

There is an interesting, very long winded article over at The New Republic written by historian and Clinton pal and supporter Sean Wilentz that dares to say that it’s the Obama camp that has been playing the dreaded race card. Or perhaps it’s the race seive, in that anything the Clinton camp has said has been interpreted to see just how race oriented it is. Not if, but how much. Wilentz does point out how totally fawning the media has been in Obama’s direction. The comments are very interesting too: over 400 of them at this point, they say only two things. “This is Truth” or “This is Lies”. I despise Hillary and I know the Clintons are the most diabolical politicians going, but I couldn’t help but agree with everything Mr. Wilentz wrote.

Johnny Dollar has the tape of FoxNews’ John Gibson’s interview with Geraldine Ferraro, wherein she (boldly) comes right out and says he wouldn’t be anywhere without his blackness. “If Barack Obama were a white man, would we be talking about this as a potential real problem for Hillary? If he were a woman of any color, would he been in this position? Absolutely not”.

Yet Obama has been winning primaries in states that are nearly all white, in addition to states that are diverse. If these allegations are correct, is it because 1) An awful lot of Americans are really gullible, and 2) Political Correctness has been so thorough in creating White Guilt that folks are unable to vote against him because they would charge themselves with being racist? Think about that one, because it allows an empty suit with a tan to run an empty campaign, based on no ideas and supported by no experience, AND WIN. It’s the Halle Berry effect that wins you and Denzel Washington Academy Awards because people kicked up a fuss ahead of time with the “It’s about time” meme.

Look over at Hot Air, where they’ve put up a little video that tells you how bills Senator Obama sponsored that made it into law: one.

So I guess you can’t really call it playing the race card, but it’s a similar thing. It’s the “You Can’t Criticize Or Disagree With This Candidate Or Not Support Him Because That Would Be Racist Because This Campaign Is Not About Race Or Gender, You Racist White Male” card. And it’s working! One bill in the US Senate. One term in the US Senate. More than 100 meaningless “Present” votes in Illinois. No job in the private sector, ever. No business or managerial experience, ever. Minor accomplishments against the Chicago housing authority that were largely the work of other people. Communist slutadventuress for a mother, drunken arab polygamist for a father, crabby “race victim” for a wife, belongs to a racist church - all this gets ignored completely. He has No Content or Experience. At. All. And it’s working!! It’s like winning a poker tournament on a bluff, but doing it before the cards are even dealt, and you’re there to play checkers!! It’s like American Idol all over again, only this time Sangina is going to win. And this time it’s for real.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot.
