from the mailbag
links to stories sent in by all you guys. Ok, I’m a few days behind with some of them.
CBullit, whose other other name is either Legion or Legend, pushes back against the global warming scientists who are pushing back against ClimateGate, with language that might get him in trouble with the Navy.
Carol and Doc Jeff sent the link that Obama wants to grab more land in the west because a bunch of stupid animals are more important than the citizens or the resources on those lands. Gee, looks like one kind of ringed neck weasel looking out for another.
Behold the Moderate Muslim! Doc Jeff links to a new fatwa that says all suicide bombers are going straight to hell without their 72 raisins. Immam Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri wrote a 600 page fatwa that says that violence is always wrong and that 3 lefts do not in fact make a right. Awesome. Now, when I hear that hundreds of millions of regular Muslims are getting behind him, I’ll take it to heart.
Carol also sends in a link to a very quick political affiliation quiz. I think it’s heavily weighted towards generating “Libertarian” as a result, even when I Just Say No to the Legalize Drugs thing.
Michael Zak sends a link to his own blog’s post that points out that ACORN operates quite like the KKK. Interesting. I like Zak, he’s real good at those Today In Republican History points, but he gets too wound up if I quote more than a super tiny bit from his writing. Hey, gots to give the folks a reason to click you know. So all I’ll give you is “Like ACORN, the Ku Klux Klan operated with impunity until Republican politicians and journalists sounded an alarm.” which might just be enough.
Rich K links to a Popular Mechanics article on UAVs, the future of the military. It’s still going to take boots on the ground in the end though.
Home is where the graft is! Rich K also links us to American Thinker where they look at RICO, the corrupt Chicago government, the mafia, and how all that lead to the city’s ban on handguns.
Lastly, Old Cat Man sends in a link that the Brits are putting spy chips in people’s dustbins garbage cans, and that some folks have the gall to object to this. You see, it’s not just WHAT you throw away, it’s HOW MUCH. So I guess they have a quota system ready to go in. Will be be seeing Carbon Credits Trash Chits being traded around the UK soon? Think of the money you could make if you were a hoarder who didn’t throw anything away!
Thanks to everyone; these all make good reading. Sorry if you sent something in and I missed it; I’m always behind in the email so sometimes I have to skip ahead to stay even a little timely.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
- Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
- Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
- Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
- Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
