Err Amerika Under Fire

Well, well! It seems Al Franken and the gang at Err Amerika are in deep manure, based on this story at Blogs For Bush and reported by Drudge ....

As Drudge Reports:

The red-hot rhetoric over Social Security on liberal talkradio network AIR AMERICA has caught the attention of the Secret Service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Government officials are reviewing a skit which aired on the network Monday evening—a skit featuring an apparent gunshot warning to the president!

The announcer: “A spoiled child is telling us our Social Security isn’t safe anymore, so he is going to fix it for us. Well, here’s your answer, you ungrateful whelp: [audio sound of 4 gunshots being fired.] Just try it, you little bastard. [audio of gun being cocked].”

And Blogs For Bush has this to say:

I can only wonder if Al Franken suspected this would happen, and all this was a sick, twisted publicity stunt. Air America’s ratings are not all that good.

I can almost hear Franken whining in his annoying voice about free speech, claiming that the Bush Administration wants to shut them down.

It’s not going to work. Their programming still sucks… I don’t know how they think they can be taken seriously anymore—especially after this.

They ought to be ashamed of themselves. I am sure they’re not. They’re probably laughing, thinking George Soros will probably write them a big fat check now.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
