YOU KNOW THINGS ARE IN THE CRAPPER WHEN A MAJOR CORP. BECOMES NANNY TO ALL.

  1. Leave the kids to hang out outside. Or give them a fiver and send them back for some bit of junk on the far end of the store just before you get on line to check out. Most cashiers develop tunnel vision after a week or two on the job; they aren’t looking at anything other than the length of their line and what they’re ringing up.

It’s a very stupid rule that is just too easy to work around. You want to feed your kids booze, you do it at home. Besides, what is the drinking age over there? 18 I thought, which means most kids have, ahem, “sampled” things about 50 times before they turn legal.

  2. Are these people just freaking NUTS or what.  Now you cannot shop if you have your child with you?

Liberals, I just can’t proceed without getting too profane!

  3. Or better yet, simply stop shopping there altogether. They’ll realize how much “support” their policy is getting, and perhaps they’ll decide it’s up to *actual parents* to look after THEIR OWN children. If not, well… at least you don’t have to put up with it yourself anymore.

  4. Peiper, have they resorted to refusing to sell any cough medicines over there as most of them include some form of alcohol in their making?  What about medicines that have codeine in them and are prescribed for the parents?  Are the parents guilty by suspicion for letting their kids “sample” those as well?  Now we know where Charles “Dumbo” Windsor got on his kicks about having everything sooper-safe.  Sheesh!
