I have an old steam cleaner with attachments. Lucky for me - my 40+ year old carpet steamer (Hoover) still works. The much younger (early 2000) Bissell only sucks up water -so I have to use them in concert (i.e double the work/machines).
I should go over the baths and floors with my steamer - if I could just get everyone else to go to a movie (I wish) or something. With the upside down sleeping schedules here - there is little time for me to do real cleaning. I can’t wait for all this nonsense to stop.
I was surprised and impressed with just how little dirt the steaming pulled up from the hard floors. I was expected tons of it, but I’d done such an intense job scrubbing the daylights out of them a few weeks earlier, there really wasn’t much to lift up.
OTOH, I did the hard flooring and the bathroom at our place. Just to get used to the machine you understand. Wink wink. And that got a whole lot of mess. Steaming works!
yes I would like to get one of those steaming mops. My machine is a heavy round tubby thing with a (it is good) web to put over your shoulder. It heats up quickly and a fill will do either a floor or all of either of our minuscule bathrooms and it has 4 different end qizmos. But it is very heavy. I’m getting too old for that nonsense.
I usually try to do the rugs in June - or at least once a year. It’s been harder (not sure why (see my first post on sleeping around here)) to get things done. It always seems like I’m falling behind - before I even start.
