  1. “I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world”
    grin LOL  cheese

  2. Smell that oink.  It smells like freedom heading our way. sheep

  3. At Oral’s first inaugural, wasn’t Ron the moonbat who was offended by a military jet flyover?--only to be reminded that “Hey, Ron, they’re ours now?”

Perhaps even the rock of leftist heads can erode over time.

  4. Ron Silver’s a good guy-a real Mensch grin

  5. If memory serves Silver got his *wake up call* on 9/11.  And has admitted as much.  Has his feelings changed about what socal ills need to be addressed or perhaps how they should be? I don’t think so....BUT...his big thing was hey we can argue about how to solve all the other issues later...MY COUNTRY AND FAMILY NEEDS TO BE SAFE FIRST!  He gets it...and has realized how bankrupt the dims have become.  I may not agree with his point of view on any given social issue...but he has earned my respect.

  6. Good for Silver, and sorry I missed hearing about his wakeup call.  Now if only something could be done about the Hollyweirdoes who have snored in loud concert from 9/11 to the present day!

  7. Dean, Sharpton, Kucinich....Those look like three bad choices to me. Picking the worst one would be a challenge. There is no picking the best one.

Should the Dems get their shit all back in one sock they’d be approaching Joe Lieberman to lead them to the promised land or at least out of the wilderness that their fringe elements have lately led them.

I have no desire to see a one party system in this country. That is a swift path to ruin and against everything we stand for. There is a need for a loyal opposition. I don’t want to lose that. But the opposition must be loyal to the country, not to whatever radical element feeds them money.

If moveon.org feels that they own the party because they raised a lot of money, I wonder how George Soros feels about all the money he gave. Oh wait, he gave a lot of it to moveon.org. I guess the question is answered.

  8. Money talks--and bullshit (cf. Dean, Sharpton, Kucinich etc.) had better walk in step, or they’ll be hearing from Fearless Leader about it.

  9. StinKerr is right.  LOYAL opposition.  Didn’t politics used to stop at the water’s edge?  Except for Israel and Ireland—and that wasn’t partisan.
I wonder, and try to imagine, what would we be like if VietNam never happened?  Would JFK gotten us into that cluster-f*ck?  Probably.

  10. I can’t venture to guess what we might be like if Nam had not come along, but I saw how we were beforehand.  Granted, we had our problems then as always.  But we assuredly did NOT have a large, well-entrenched and well-financed fifth column such as we have today.  Neither party was a safe haven for lunatics or traitors, and neither party had to rely on the scum of the earth for its power base.

Apart from that, it was the era of SAC and the Skipjack; ‘57 Chevys and Thunder Road Fords; all-American electronics (and most everything else); the Yanks vs. the Bums; Janet Leigh and Kim Novak; individually owned and operated restaurants that served real food; Julie London and Joni James; 77 Sunset Strip and Peter Gunn.  The list goes on and on.

    And Ike, above all.

  11. Skipjack, as in the sailing vessel, right?  Not many on White River, Indianapolis.

A reporter in Vietnam was complaining to the Colonel about being denied access to something or someplace.  He said,

“In WW2 we were given secret briefings and accompanied the troops”

The Colonel replied, “True.  But in that war you were on our side.”

  12. Hi Oink, I was referring to nuclear sub Skipjack, the first sub with a teardrop-shaped hull, after the experimental Albacore. It was the first sub to break the 30-knot submerged speed barrier.

That Vietnam reporter sounds all too real, not to speak of the sort we must suffer nowadays, for want of citizens like Ernie Pyle.
