  1. I haven’t seen the situation illustrated any more succinctly (or accurately) than here.  Good catch, Skipper!

  2. If everybody ‘gets it’ why is there still a problem? Why force Israel into a cease fire that is already falling apart? This is so stupid and I guess I must be stupid that I don’t get what happened and why.

Why the Israel and the U.S. started with all the capitulation?  Yeah, that’s got me kinda’ stumped as well.  One minute they’re saying one thing and then going with the exact opposite the next minute.  2 + 2 isn’t adding up to 4 in this situation.

In a war/conflict, you play to your strengths.  For the Hezzies, all they had was the PR game - and they “won” that end of the conflict.  Israel never stood a chance in that arena - and everybody knew it.  So it would be utterly pointless for Israel to try and start winning the “hearts and minds” of the Lebanese.  Israel has serious military might in that region.  They could squash the Lebanese and their “shadow army,” Hezbollah without too much difficulty.  The way I see it, either somebody is selling somebody else out or this withdrawal is a prelude to Isreal preparing for something alot bigger than a “border incursion”.  I just wish I knew which is truth of the matter.
