  1. The words” slippery slope, police state, scary & bullsh*t all come to mind.

  2. It is the general perception by law enforcement and the government that they are our betters.  That we are but sheep needing to be tended to.

And THAT, boys and girls, is why those people need to be the hell OUT of power. Again with the “bumper sticker wisdom”,

    a. Fear the government that fears your guns. And
    b. People with guns are citizens, people without guns are slaves.

These things are true. You know it, I know it, and the American public seems to be realizing it at last. We shall see.

  3. I am amazed that people can not see the liberal ideation that is so anti-American

    1) does not care if it is Constitutional
    2) wants a law to use basically extort people into jail
    3) knows the law won’t solve the problem - but approves of it anyway
    4) believes that they know better than anyone else on any subject
    5) that the end always justifies the means
and of course my all time favorite
    6) the intention is good - so what if it does not solve the problem or create even more problems - never look at the results, always look at the intention

and blindly they are being led like sheep to the slaughter.

  4. It has always been my observation that for the one cop who gets the job for altruistic reasons - to truly serve and protect - there are 19 others who get the job because it allows them to boss people around. Just possibly things are a smidge better these days, with many police departments requiring their officers to hold college degrees and undergo regular training, but still, for the most part, cops are the dumbass jocks and bullies from high school. And with the militarisation of the police in the last 6 years it has only become worse. The neighborhood beat cop is no longer your buddy; he gives the evil eye to everyone trying to impress us all with his power.

I live in a crime free tiny little well-heeled lily white town on the edge of rural NJ. We don’t have a bar, mall, or movie theater in town yet our kids have a year-round curfew. Our police force has essentially nothing to do; the crime blotter in the newspaper consists of DUIs and kids busted with a joint. Yet they isolate themselves from the populace and go out of their way to project that power swagger. At least they do when they aren’t being brought up on corruption and sexual misconduct charges. Oops.

  5. Especially Wardmama’s #4 - There’s an old saying about minds and parachutes, they only work when they are open.

  6. You know I am on the fence about the cops - while I might agree that those who rise to positions of ‘power’ within the police system do so by typical liberal means (strong arming who they know) - I think that the majority who apply really do want to make a difference. In their defense, the cops have taken decades of slander, libel and court cases over their use of force while facing an ever increasing populace (in some places) that stonewall them (warna brother;don’t snitch) and those whose drug of choice makes them completely out of control when an arrest is attempted - coupled with the few - who neither of the above is part of it - but for whatever (and never reveled by the msm) reason suddenly goes off. Here it was for example, a passenger in a vehicle that was being stopped for running a red light - driver stops car, gets out and beats feet - passenger who was simply asked to step out of the car, pulls a gun and shoots cop in the face [not fatal as cop reacted by moving and said criminal shot obviously without aim or skill] - a year goes by until at sentencing - low and behold the msm finally mentions (bottom of story) that our intrepid victim was a ‘wanted’ criminal with a long rap sheet and was fleeing two warrants - big surprize. Imagine years of marches, ‘news’ stories about police brutality - when in both cases here that the msms have beaten that mantra over and over again - the ‘victim’ was a wanted criminal who chose to run or fight back. Which then behooves the rational person to ask - exactly who is the victim? And isn’t it hypocrisy to allow criminals the out that they are the way they are (running, warna brother, don’t snitch, shooting back, resisting arrest)because of decades of being the ‘victim’ while not allowing the cops the same (forceful takedowns, shooting back) as a result of decades of being the ones blamed for the violence. . .Talk about not accepting responsiblity and projection.

And of course it all goes to what faster and better way to destroy a society than to make those who enforce the laws (and the laws themselves) to be the vile, evil and wrong ones - while letting the criminals get a pass. . .

  7. And that’s why its a bad thing to have the hippies running the media. And the school system. And a good part of the government ....

  8. Being in law enforcement, I have to say the ‘modern view’ of ‘Government knows best’ is scarey.

I suggest everyone vote against increased budgets for law enforcement agencies.  The way to make people safe is to arm the people so they aren’t victims.  Law enforcement agencies should be relegated to clean up the bodies (preferably the bad guys) and writing up the reports to indict the wrong-doers who survive.

If police agencies think “getting guns off the streets” will reduce crime, they should disarm their officers and see how well that works.
