  3. Christopher - sorry, you can’t. Just make an external IMG SRC reference to them like you did here. Pretty sure that a regular link ( A HREF ) to an image file will be automatically resolved too, so you can do it that way as well. Try it and see.

    BogeyB - excellent link! http://www.mcmaster.com/#push-in-grommets/=dwh9qa has 2 grommets that could do the job, one steel and one rubber. Perfect but a bit too expensive.

    Actually, I think something like Christopher’s idea would work, but in a smaller format. A 3 quart nursery pot is just what I need, and costs about a dollar. These are flower pots made for work, not for show, so they are tough but not pretty. The top edge is a flat thin rim. All I’d have to do is drop one in the hole, use a marker from underneath to draw a line where it sticks through, then cut it off at or below that point. That leaves me with a rimmed ring, which I’d just caulk seal into place in the hole. Presto, done, waterproofed forever. $1.
