When the ‘Standard Deduction’ is no longer ‘Standard’

  1. Actually Christopher has just shown us a small ray of hope. He’s saying that the standard deduction may be increased. This sounds nice, especially if you live in a high tax state.

    Oh, and you didn’t “only pay $45”. You paid $45 MORE than what they taxed you directly for.

    It’s not ‘standard’ if it’s not consistent.

    The fact that a renter can claim the standard deduction while a homeowner can claim the standard deduction PLUS his property taxes means there will be more class-envy, not less.

    And, trust me on this, I’ll only have a cancelled $45.00 check to prove the taxes I’ve paid. Democrats don’t pay taxes. Just see most of the Obama cabinet appointees.
