  1. You’ve got to hand it to Al Gore.  Not only did he make money producing a movie, but the movie is helping him sell carbon offsets through his company and the Nobelists (sp?) have given him even more free publicity and money!  I think he might be an even more successful con artist than the Clintons!  Do you think they’re having a competition?

  2. Obama is right about at least one thing - for Gore to accept the VP slot would be a step down in ego boost.

Ask a glowball warmeningist what the earth’s average temp is with the greenhouse effect? About 59 F. Without? About 2 F. We need the greehouse effect.

Ask them how the greenhouse effect works to warm the planet. They will likely say it is because the gasses act like a blanket keeping the warm air in. Wrong.

The molecules of the four top greenhouse gasses are composed of an odd number of atoms: water vapor- H2O, carbon dioxide- CO2, methane- CH4, nitrous oxide- N2O. As infrared energy hits these molecules, they vibrate, in turn giving off more IR energy. It is this IR that warms the area around the molcules, not a blanketing thermal effect. Simpler molecules, like O2 and N2, do not absorb or emit IR, thus do not pass the heat along.

Very simple but a better understanding than a blanket effect.

The real danger of the hysteria around GW is that while we look at nostrums like carbon offsets, and irrelevant but destructive ideas on how to reduce our carbon footprints by demolishing the wealth of nations, we are not looking at and planning for the future as the earth warms despite our frivilous efforts. When the earth becomes warm enough, whatever that might be, problems will arise for which we are unprepared because we have wasted time, effort, treasure and capability on worthless and ineffectual bullshit.
