What, no “gun amnesty” in Britian?

1. My son is looking at joining the Navy. To be fair, the main reason he’s joining has nothing to do with the GWoT, he has an idea that by the time he’s in his 30s - 40s he wants to run a charter boat service, and figures to learn seamanship from some of the best.
   The reason I’m posting that *here* is because when I was in the Navy in the late 80s, I found that piracy in the Caribbean is not just history, it’s going on right now, today. And yes, the US Navy does what it can, but it can’t be everywhere. One of my big issues with his idea is that I think there should be a way for him to have full-auto weapons on board at the very least, if not a grenade launcher. If the government can’t protect him in international waters right off their coast, they have no business prohibiting him from protecting HIMSELF.

2. Long range full-auto GoF. Pukey little poodleshooter is too light. A couple M2s and a Bofors gun should do the trick.
