  1. any time soon. Ever.

Gave us quite a laff that last line did, cause that’s exactly my way with the cats we’ve had. All but one who just could not be confined cos he was someone else’s outdoor cat until they moved away. So we took him in. His name was Dan and I still have a favorite photo. Anyway ... we let him out one day maybe a month after we got him, and he was hit by a car.
Never got over that, and most won’t understand how easy it is to bond with a cat with personality and is actually loving as well.  So anyway ... that’s exactly my attitude. No cat we ever had after Dan was ever an outdoor cat. Thing is to keep em busy and play when they aren’t sleeping.
Oh Drew ... a word if |I may about feeding.
What you have are cats with a built in feral nature to eat what’s available when it’s available. Their programmed that way in the wild.  So caution is needed with possible over eating and excess weight eventually.  Forgive me for the unasked for intrusion on the subject. We are a bit weird I suppose, well, me more so than the wife who was a cat lover before I was. So I worry about them. I would never wake one of ours if it happen to be asleep in my chair. I’d find another chair. I don’t mind. Yeah ... somewhat OTT in the view of many.  Even Jenn. But hey ... doesn’t hurt anyone and the fur person remains content.
Cheers and good luck and photos please when you can.

  2. We have started feeding the neighbor (now in a nursing home) outdoor cats. There are two left - although I have not seen the gray & white in a number of days. Still trying to figure out how to provide them with a covered hideaway for this winter. My Mom left us with a huge dog carrier (she shipped her two dogs to OH in it) but not sure it would serve the purpose, stay put in a wind or even be used. We shall see.

Ally Cat will provide you with a trap and help you neuter the wild ones on two conditions - you either release them back to their habitat or adopt them yourself.

I grew up with ‘outside’ cats - but we had acres of land and so there was too much food source and entertainment for them to wander to the streets. Not to say that a dog or two did not buy it at the hands of visitors and delivery trucks.

Feral born are a different breed - but can still adapt and be a nice pet. Still have visions of the itty bitty kitty (feral born and not inside until 6 months old) - literally clinging to the back fence screaming for us to ‘rescue’ him after the back screen door got left open one day - and both cats got out. The psychotic kitty simply went under the deck until we came out to ‘rescue’ them. They adapt much better than most people imagine.

  3. So Drew has Kittehs and the rest of the world is stuck rescuing Syrians.
Now if only we could teach those cute little kittehs how to say Allah Akbar,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, party

  4. My kittehs will be prepared to wage holy war.

And if either one ever starts getting chubby, we’ll cut down their food. Both spent the first weeks of their lives on the edge of starvation, poorly and rarely fed by their absentee mother. So let them bulk up and grow now if they can.
