  1. Just watched Jim Carrey in The Mask. And I have to quote; Somebody stop me!

If you haven’t read the post, and checked out the comments, you’re missing a fun time.

Again, if you visit, and the poster is ‘cruithni’, that’s me.

Anyway, read the article, and hit the comments.

  2. Uh, on what points did the “idiot” author err? He addressed 6 points in the short article, and he was exactly right on all 6.

  3. Actually, he missed on all of them.

  4. What did he miss on any of them? According to the research I’ve on about Islam and Mormonism, he’s hit every single point exactly right. His point was not that they were the same, but that they had some interesting commonalities. They both also share some elements with other Christian-sounding cults, such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses or the Seventh-Day Adventists.

They all believe on some level that mainstream Christianity (including Catholicism and the various Evangelical branches) follow a corrupted belief system, and that they are the correction of whatever corruption they believe is present. They all believe that the Bible is wrong or incomplete, and that their version of scripture is absolute truth. Mormonism and Islam simply replace the Bible with their own holy books (while claiming to acknowledge the Bible’s continuing importance), while JWs and SDAs have developed their own translations in keeping with their own “correct” interpretations.

SDAs do generally believe in the concept of the Trinity, but JWs, Mormons, and Muslims do not. JWs and Islam believes that there is a single god, that Jesus is simply a man, and that there is no such entity as the Holy Spirit. Mormons believe that the god of our planet was a mere human from another world who followed all the tenets of Mormonism, so he and his wife were elevated to godhood and became the rulers of Earth. Then god’s wife gave birth to Jesus and later his brother Lucifer. Oh, and there is no such entity as the Holy Spirit.

Islam and Mormonism both have as part of their belief systems the practice of deceiving non-believers as to the true nature of their respective belief systems. This is well-known about Islam, but practically unknown about Mormonism. It is also known that there are advanced elements of Mormon belief that are not told even to Mormons, such as the secret rituals which take place in the temples.

I could go much further with this, but I think that will suffice for now.

  6. I do not know the Mormons as in Utah - I do however know one of the sects - where does the idea that Mormons don’t believe in the Trinity or the Bible come from? Maybe the Utah Mormons don’t but the (what was it, 25 sects that broke off after B Young and J Smith split apart?!?) - sect I belong to (the J Smith part - originally RLDS, now Community of Christ) includes the Bible and (gasp) Jesus is a deep and abiding part of their belief system. As far as Christian - I gravitated to the church and became a baptized member because they were the one religion I found that actually acted like Christians here on earth. They came out and helped me move on a Saturday, gave me some money to get through until my divorce (which they did not hound me about) gave me my money back and they welcomed me and helped me to learn about true Christian living. Yes I know some of the books out there - I’ve got one. Yes I had some problems with some issues but I can rattle them off for most of the other religions out there. So I choose the best for me. I haven’t been to a CoC service (the nearest one is more than an hour away - no longer will do that for any church/religion) in an age (to be honest) - so I go where I am planted. Usually the German Mass at Old St Mary’s - as I enjoy being around the older German couples - they remind me so much of my parents.

We can’t even intimidate that the current (p)Resident in chief who was born of a muslim father, raised by a progressive/commie mother, taken in by a muslim step father - might not be a Christian - but when it comes to a progressive RINO candidate - we have to bash him and his religion (don’t forget Harry Reid is a Mormon too) every chance we get.

And the biggest difference between islam and any Christian religion going is that Christian religions don’t kill their own or others on the utterances of so-called ‘religious’ leaders supposedly for their god.

Stereotyping - I thought pc police were against it - but I guess when it comes to Christianity - it doesn’t matter at all.

  7. I’m in a lousy mood today - which is why I finally commented - paid my bills in the dark this am - everything is creeping up 5 bucks at a time. By the end of winter - I guess we will be attempting cat fritters to go with our rice soup.
