I still think that the “lead in the polls” is actually evidence that McCain is doing well. It’s psyop propaganda, pure and simple.
The bottom line is that the internal polls of the campaigns are the ONLY polls that don’t have an agenda. Everyone else has something to gain by making the public think this or that person is going to win, or better yet, CANNOT POSSIBLY lose.
But the internals of a campaign.... what keeps them employed is being able to ACCURATELY identify trends, strong and weak points, so their candidate will be able to accurately assess where to best spend his efforts. These are the ONLY people who are nearly certain to lose their jobs, possibly their careers, by failing to accurately show what IS rather than what they *want* things to be.
Last I heard, the internals show it as a dead heat, with undecideds breaking about 4 to 1 for McCain. All the other polls are more likely to be trying to *influence* opinion than *assess* it.Why do I keep hearing that Jaws music in my head. I hope its just fatigue and not a foreboding sign of whats to come.
