My oldest (4 at the time) stood on the couch and drew from one end to the other with a permanent marker - the day the sale contract to sell our house was signed on our house in CA. A great friend went out that afternoon and bought two cans of paint and helped us to paint the wall - I still swore I could see it. None of us learned - he did it again on the pillar at the next (rental) house. I just bought a spray can of paint every week and sprayed it over and over again.
Same son also threw my keys behind a bookcase (how he managed that, we still don’t know). He,also by age 3, knew how to undo every single lock in the house (and would wander down the sidewalk) - we ended up with dead bolts on every door and a special locking brace bar for the patio door. I should have watched Please Don’t Eat the Daisies before he was born - so I would have been prepared.
