  1. I am looking forward to Florida first becoming an island, like Cuba, and later becoming a sunken civilization like Atlantis. Tens of thousands of years from now, Austin will probably have its own gulf coast beach downtown.

I can visualize the remnants of human civilization, on that Austin beach, slithering around, through the water, on their bellies, devouring an occasional Nutria or Toy Poodle dog, and remembering that glorious sunken kingdom, that was Florida.

O to be able to see such a sight.

  2. angry  Dear Dennis:

    With all due respect…

You frickin moron, air for brains, donkey’s rear end. Every thing was fine here in Florida until you tourist mentallity types decided to stay here after you blew your moneyroll at Disney. Thus adding to your transient, trash type, expanded families to our welfare rolls.

You come down here built high rises on barrier islands, pave over water retention areas and move enough mobile homes into the state to cause a heat sink that attracts tornados, lightning and Hurricanes. Not to mention they’re uglier than sin for the most part.

If you’d stayed up where you came from we wouldn’t need FEMA or have voting problems. We took care of our own just fine until your carpetbagging donkey’s rear end showed up.

In closing this is nature’s way of cleansing the gene pool. After four in six weeks you would think you got the message and would head back to the hole in the ground caves you came from.

In closing don’t come round my place cause we still own guns down here and we know how to use them, and we like to use them. Go ahead make my day.

Please excuse me I need to go convince those folks down the street with the “Kerry for President” sticker on there Volvo who just retired from Michigan on a UAW pension it’s okay to swim in Lake Alice during a Hurricane.

    Respectfully:

  3. I’ll cut you a little slack Stan cause it appears you’re from Texas and may be a good ole boy. But watch it cowboy.

You may have NASA HQ in Houston, but we still have the Lauch Facilities and Command set up in Florida. We know how to use it and our aim is pretty damn good…

  4. Funny you should mention those curves and circular areas---my trees are exhibiting those characteristics right now.  Near horizontal rain is pretty interesting, too.  Whatever plants survived Frances will now find themselves transformed into the “ground hugging” variety starting tomorrow.  Trees have gotten a wicked haircut, too.

  5. Ric,

I don’t have a problem with the good ole boy aspect of the future sunken kingdom of Florida. All the good ole boys are welcome to move to Texas, we have plenty of room, at least until portions of it wash away. Its all the damn yankee retirees and tourists that drive me crazy down there.

  6. wink Me too Stan, I know where you come from on that one…

They made a big mistake when they let Mickey Rat squat in one of our swamps. Been down hill ever since…

A bit of advice if somebody from Disney starts sniffing around Austin, shoot’em right there, right then. Trust me on this…

  7. I will lock and load.

  8. Why are you all picking on Florida just because the retirees want to settle where they don’t have to deal with the snow and cold?  And it seems to me that Texas has gotten it’s share of hurricanes over the years.  Each and every part of the USA has some type of catastrophic weather at some time- hurricanes, tornadoes, frigid temps & snowstorms - it just behooves the population to learn to deal with whatever nature throws its way..........you just can’t fool with Mother Nature.........
