1. Why does the federal government have to fork over money to rebuild New Orleans?  What about the people who choose to live in a city that’s below sea level in an area prone to hurricanes?

2. I notice that the cartoonist gave the media caricature a nose suspiciously like the snout of a pig.

   Fitting.

   And I agree, it is madness to build a city in a vile, pestiferous slough to begin with, let alone a swampy sump that must be artificially drained in order to conceal its identity as a death trap.  It is worse than madness to rebuild a city in such a place.  One lesson should suffice.

   Let those who want to court destruction and death in such a place finance their recklessness themselves.
