Wasted Grant Money?

  1. Hey Drew! Thanks for writing about the project.

Quick note: ScienceCheerleader.com and related projects are created by awesome volunteers (with the exception of a video editor who help with the Penn and Teller video). Wish I had a grant! But we’re just a bunch of science advocates volunteering to help turn people on to science and science policy...and it’s working.
I have highly over-qualified interns who write blog posts and I call friends for favors including folks at the 76ers who were kind enough to participate. A talented college friend taped and edited the videos. Just imagine what we could have done with a grant (heck, even just some lights!). Professor Trefil was a good sport to agree to work with me on this particular project.  We both feel adult science literacy is a BIG (too often over-looked) problem and we decided to try an entirely new approach to change things.

Thanks again for the post, Drew.
    Take care
    Darlene
