What about the Hunchback of Notre Dame? Hero of the movie titled after him!
How about the happy and sensitive protrayal of The Seven Dwa...Little People in ‘Snow White’? Representation of Vertically-Challenged Americans at it’s finest!
Shoot! There’s even cracked self-aware crockery in ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
Don’t tell me there’s no disabled representation in Disney movies.
Granted, this representation of the handicapped doesn’t rise to the level of representation in former Labour MP’s…
But they seem to get the worst of the worst in job lots.
Good job ‘heldmyw’.
I guess we should send this King Lady a boxed set of ‘South Park’ so she can see that indeed we do show challenged folk in film. We got Kenny in his wheelchair and the kid who uses crutches and stutters. That should be enough to shut her pie hole but I doubt it.
Oh, and did not Monty Python regularly feature disabled folk long ago, even though most were characatures of politicians? Which of course goes without sayin.
How’s this for disabled in Disney:
Pinocchio the wooden doll with the nose problem
Dumbo and his oversized ears
Captain Hook with his missing hand
Ariel (The Little Mermaid) the mute
Quasimodo (as previously mentioned) in The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Nemo and his mangled fin (and the other fish in Finding Nemo with the same problem whose name I can’t recall)
A crippled (during the movie) Pollyanna
All the chair-bound people on the ship in WALL-E
The pirate with the wooden eye in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies
Those are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head. Maybe this woman should sit down and watch some Disney movies.
Well, if us Bmewsers can rattle them off so easily here Im sure she is getting her fill from the locals by now too.
And if she is I wonder if it helped her find her G spot, As in G for General as in disney movie ratings.
Ya, thats what I ment, Ratings,,,,hehe.
