The first and last passages say it all!
I DO have a TV!! YES!! I do!
But the tuner does not work. When I moved to Florida my parents’ neighbor was heading north. I was searching the stores for a “monitor only” to watch videos. He tells me he has a TV for sale. I explained. He said, no problem. It’s just right for you cuz the tuner was broken but the tube was good. He’d sell it for $150 (26 inch swivel floor set) and for the price would throw in a large framed picture of an eagle, a fake plant, and a practically new “L” shaped sofa (8 foot by 6 foot, pillows and a glass topped coffe table.
Tonight I watch 4 episodes of 24 on DVD! Will be getting the gin and tonics ready soon.
About 4 years ago I had had enough of TV and so although I bought a new 38 inch last year and I have cable TV to the house for my cable modem I have never hooked it up and watched TV, For entertainment I am collecting what will be hundreds of video and DVD movies that I like cheap on E Bay and just read the paper ever couple of days for news or find it on the web at wonderful sites like Barking Moonbat(the name just cracks me up) I feel much better without the TV News which is 90% bad and the insipid commercials. I also read alot of books. So Vilmar you have some understanding compatriots out here.
Paul, there’s always Netflix!
We have a “tube” but no cable-thought we were spending too much time in front of C-Span, FNC and the History Channel.
Now we spend too much time in front of the monitor
If the BOY(tm) keeps whining we may get comcast again-maybe.
We have 7 TVs counting the one out by the Spa. Can’t imagine life without them.
