Oh I rather doubt that. I just like bridges. I’m just impressed that the county I live in has so darn many old and impressive ones. I’m actually quite amazed just how weak wood actually is compared to modern steel, or even good old cast iron. And I’m not sure if I like the “looks old but is actually new underneath” paradigm, but I can see how that is necessary in today’s lawsuit happy world where the expectation is that you can go through life without paying attention and that it is everyone else’s responsibility to protect you from yourself always.
I think that’s called perpetual infantilisation?
