US Pentagon doubts Israeli intelligence over Iran’s nuclear programme

 

1. How many cruise missiles can we build in under a year? How many bombers? How many flight crews can be trained? How’s the Navy’s torpedo supply?

   the US military is looking into possible outcomes for military attacks featuring varying levels of American involvement.

   If Israel attacks and we don’t join in to utterly smash the Iranian military in one fell swoop ... 2000 targets in a few hours, and then another 2000, and then another 2000, until everything with wheels or treads on it in Iran is blown up, it’s over for us. Cuz the camel fuckers will come swarming over the mountains the next morning if they have any weapons left bigger than rifles. And they’ll go global the day after that.

   Any lesser level of involvement just puts us at higher risk. Smash them to amazingly small bits in a single go, and be ready to smash them 10 times over immediately thereafter. Swing the Big Stick as hard as you can or make sure the game is called off.

   I think the time to put an absolute blockade on Iran is now. Jam communications and interdict and sink all ships going in. Blame it on Somali pirates. Let the oil out ... build a pipeline into Iraq or just let the tankers go. No food gets in. No spare parts get in. No medicine gets in. Gee, maybe Allah will turn your water into wine oil into food.

   We have no need to do nation building there. Scorch the earth smooth, and go home. Other than needing their oil, the whole world hates this place.

   Oh, and use any leftover bombs to destroy Gaza on the way back. Just because.

2. I am with Drew on this issue and although Winston Churchill stated that “jaw-jaw” was always preferable to “war-war” I think in this case if we don’t strike Iran with overwhelming firepower, then sooner or later they will develop atomic weapon. They will not hesitate to unleash them on Israel or use them to bully their neighbours. We are staring into the abyss. It’s a pity we took out the wrong country first (Iraq) but at least it gives the US plenty of air bases close to the action. As for dropping the leftovers on Gaza I think we should also save some for Somalia. Just because.
