Look at that. The picture defies imagination.
And yet..
1 sailor dead, 60 out of 137 crew members injured. And they STILL managed to get her back to Guam under her OWN power.
If that doesn’t say we’re militarily better than anyone else on the damned planet, I sure as hell don’t know what does.
I havn’t heard of this. When did this happen?
Allan, please tell me that this is a parody. Did that story actually appear in al JaRaghead...with those actual quotes? I gots ta know, man...I just gots ta know...say it ain’t so
Jan 8th. She hit an undersea mountain while going about 30 knots (30+ MPH). They got her into the drydock on Jan 26.
The CO’s been reassigned while they’re investigating what happened. It’s been reported that the mountain wasn’t on the boat’s navigation charts.
Not sure if they’re going to fix her or scrap her. She’s an older boat, first flight LA class, but she just got refueled a few years ago so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Thanks, Rev. Right after I posted I read it again and those 2 examples you cited were glaring me right in the face. Lesson learned: I will never comment or respond again until I’m at least on my 2nd cup of coffee and my 3rd lighter (I stopped counting packs of smokes years ago).
The poor captain. Whether it was his fault or not, his career is finished. The fact that he brought that ship home though is amazing.
For those who didn’t catch the REAL new release, you can read it here.
As for this, yes it was one of my finest parodies. I figured the Imam’s name and the reporter’s name would tip you folks off.
Unfortunately, you’re all so used to seeing such ridiculous shit actually being reported by Al Jiz that it fooled everyone. That says a lot about the Moonbats at Al Jiz, don’t it?
"Mustaf bin Grabazzin” = Must Have Been Grab-Assing? Hehehe ....
Allan, I’m way impressed. Most excellent work.
Seems like this sub is heading to the scrap heap. Going from 20 knots to 2 knots it is amazing the Sub wasn’t lost. Those on the ship were highly trained and knew what they were doing.

The whole tale is recounted here. Including a link to an email from a chief who was on the boat at the time. Those guys did an outstanding job of saving their ship and bringing her home. I’d also say that the builders did an excellent job of building her too.
this might be better for more completeness....scroll down.
